Com'on, someone had to start this thread:

Given that 3 eps have leaked so far, what do you all think?

Personally, i think episode 1 is the highlight of the new season, dave actually approaches this episode with some creative thought and ethic, and the whole tupac skit is as ludicrous as it is hilarious. I love how he outright acknoledges that he'll never be able to top himself.

But, beyond that, the whole use of stereotypes changes in the show, and it's not shy to address it. It's not really certain what dave's trying to say, which is really a first in this series. It's easy to theorize why the whole escape to africa occured, but it's as if dave suddenly stopped having valid commentary about racial issues in america. Charley murphy doesn't have the charisma for his role as co-host, either.

I'm sure none of the black folks on BL care about my ramblings on dave, but post your thoughts everyone.
 
If anything, this season lends weight to the crazy conspiracy theorists.

I thought it was all just a giant joke or something, but the more I see of chapelle recently (esp. season 3) the more believable it is. Still not believing it, but i'm getting closer and closer.
 
How can "episode 1" be the highlight of the new season when there is no new season? 8) In fact, I don't even understand how you can call the first "episode"--which this can't even be considered as such--a highlight when you haven't even seen the others. You know, the rest of season three which doesn't exist. 8(

i dunno about that conspiracy theory, man. ockham's razor cuts that to pieces. maybe chappelle just knew he couldn't top the rick james skit, maybe he was burned out, maybe he was having mental issues, maybe he was having drug issues.... who knows? there are lots of reasons why things don't happen the way they are supposed to.

on the other hand, i do admit the whole thing was very shocking when it came down and i don't think anyone really understands it completely. i saw him on inside the actor's studio talking about eddie murphy and martin lawrence going nuts in hollywood, then i heard somewhere else him talking about how white people own everything.... i dunno. weird.

What are you trying to say? Of course chapelle didn't put these epsiodes together, he doesn't even do the hosting for it. Not sure why you're trying to berate me over what's plainly obvious. BTW, 3 epsiodes (or whatever you want to call them) have leaked. That's a decent preview of the material dave left before going to africa.
