Intro..
Tuesday, 5:56am. April, 1979. I can already feel the suns anticipation of this new day. Expectations of this new life ahead haven't been made, I am simply throwing my heart into the wind, and pray to God that California catches it with open arms. For years, I have yearned for something more. A state of discontentment has plagued me, from my very first memory.
Hello, My name is Jade Eva Johnson. My mother is stuck in 1960, My father is a mechanic. I'm eighteen years old, and I'm somebody in a world of nobodies. I have 72 dollars in my wallet, a beat up 1957 that makes noises like nothing I have ever heard before. Her name is Beast. My formar boyfriend, Sean Michael, says she named herself the very moment we started her up.
One time, I ate LSD by accident. So did Sean Michael. Since then, I haven't seen my mother store drugs in the house.
Here I am, Ohio is my birth home. Our typical daily activies include watching our boyfriends get smashed, covering houses in toilet paper, and dreaming of something more. That toilet papering, yeah, it typically includes eggs as well.
But me, I'm not like my friends. I always stood off to the side. Activity number three was more than simply a past time, it became part of my goals. The day dreams grew from fantasy to a desire, an ambition, to leave this small town of alcoholic college students and parens who smoke crack cocaine to stay awake for work behind.
Today is Tuesday, Today I will make this ambition, this once fantasy, my reality.
Water splashed onto my porcelain skin, a sink I've known for seven years will no longer be a part of my world. Glance into the mirror, I see more than a midwest maybe, I see a hopeful and beautiful young woman who is about to capture what most here wont dare attempting.
