CEPS Well Hung Parliament (CEPS Social/Off Topic)

Hullo cutieduggles!

Life is good. I'm going to be a father! So that is exciting ☺️, snowing pretty good atm but it's supposed to go all day so I can't snowblow before work...

Found a sweet new apartment, filed my taxes, paid off some debt. Haven't had a drink since Sunday, and went a week before that so I'm going to give a month a try. Would be the first time in some years since I've done that.

Other than that rewatching the fringe series which is super good and I really enjoy.

How are things with you?

^ Jah-cutie! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! :) :) That is so exciting! I'm literally smiling.

And congrats on the responsible and forward living. You are doing more than most people since New Year!

Agree wholeheartedly about Fringe. I was kindly gifted the whole series on DVD and I break it open once in awhile. It might be time...

I'm getting over the flu. :( I'm bouncing off the walls but I don't want to relapse so I'm sitting here being a good cduggles. I don't have any news about potential fatherhood though. :\

Seriously though, that's all sorts of wonderful. :D (I don't like that green smile. This is a big smile!)

Hmmm... Fringe binge?

fringe great up until the timeline reset. when they did that it felt like all the character development and world building was thrown away. I've seen timeline changes and resets done right before and it feels like they fumbled it pretty badly.

Yeah I see. Australia has a hint of that conservative religious stuff but it's relatively powerless, nothing like the States. And yet, weed is illegal, even fucken nicotine juice is illegal. But I did just buy a pack of smokes (albeit in olive drab with a prominent throat hole on it). :|

We have some fake religious uber-conservatives in congress, quite a few of them, who make policies to pretend to appease the religious masses (whose idea of religion has been turned hateful and appalling by those who use religion as social control) while actually appeasing their donors.

It's disturbing. I have a cousin who is a "born-again" christian, she's always been religious but she's been pulled into the politico-religious quagmire lately. She's the sweetest person, very kind, wouldn't hurt anyone. Yet she's calling for refusing refugees, building a wall, etc, and voted for Trump and refuses to even consider ever voting for a Democrat because they're "not Christian". It astounds me that her good nature has been so thoroughly co-opted. She's smart and college-educated too, and plenty of our family is not like that, nor was she raised that way.

Maybe they should start actually building a wall themselves if they feel so strongly about it. Thatll keep em busy a while.

...to not raise walls but bridges, to not respond to evil with evil, to overcome evil with good.

A Christian can never say ‘I’ll make you pay for that’. Never! That is not a Christian gesture. An offense is overcome with forgiveness, by living in peace with everyone.

As Attorney General I was proud to see passed through the Legislative Assembly the lifting of the Statute of Limitations for child sex abuse. This photo is with *my high school mate who rocks!-me* right outside the Assembly, directly after the vote. I want to thank her for her advocacy on behalf of survivors of child sexual abuse all over the state. Congratulations Kirsty.
It’s now up to the Legislative Council and I hope the Liberals won’t try to hold up this bill like they did No Body no Parole.
I’ll keep you informed.

Update: increasing the child abuse reporting statute of limitations to limitless has passed the legislative assembly in Western Australia. This is bound to become law now.

For child abuse survivors. Its been a good day!
