CEPS Well Hung Parliament (CEPS Social/Off Topic)

I have closed three threads on both full and mobile with no idea how (and the last time I was asking about closing threads), so if I close this it's an accident! ;)

Ha I recall :D FWIW, there's a really annoying glitch on mobile site that seems to select whatever it fucking wants if you click outside the text box. Its a form of the delete-when-editing glitch.

I dunno if the new mobile skin does this too but it still deletes when editing. I may experiment.

Jess and dm - I'd love to explore the concepts and their ramifications and logical outcomes, but that's outside of CEP's scope and better suited to P&S.

Also i can't believe that i only just now realized that asking somebody to justjustify why something should be legal is shifting the burden of proof. Holding the default positon need not be justified.

Yeah, it kept getting too off topic. An individual's own beliefs on when life begins and whether or not abortion is right is off topic in a thread about the constitutionality of laws passed with a clearly religious motive.

i gotta work on recruiting more people to help with the irc chat. too tired to do it tonight though.

Someone should make a thread in regard to Virginia's new porn law, sucks. Id hate to have to pay $20 to view porn thats free for everyone other than the state i live in.

Its a law proposed where people would have to opt in, with a $20 fee, to view "obscene content", but its nothing more than a tax on content and even if it passes it'd be quickly voided for violating the 1st amendment.

The Media Coalition, which tracks legislation involving the First Amendment, sees the bill as “nothing more than a tax on content, which is unconstitutional,” said executive director David Horowitz. “People have a First Amendment right to access this content, and publishers have a First Amendment right to provide it.”

Claire Guthrie Gasta?aga, executive director of the ACLU of Virginia, said the organization “just can’t take the bill seriously.”

They tell the people that it will cut down on human trafficking, and to be honest it would kind of promote it..
For example, id rather go and pay a hooker 20bucks to fuck, and where would i find one..
Pretty easy now, because ladies of the night will want to take advantage of the new bill, and thus more hookers,=more human trafficking.

Thats just my 2cents, it really makes me wonder how they are supposed to do this, like how would they keep track of who paid the 20 bucks, and who hasn't? Would there be a user name/password at all of the freeporn sites? Can only 1 person view each site at 1 time(like no sharing the account at the samr time?sorry roomie).

Well, that certainly is an odd red herring i just saw used. 'The existence of communism and socialism proves that self-ownership isn't innately understood universally', as a rebuttal to my statement that violating someone's boundaries without their consent will quickly show that they understand that to be wrong, and that the problem is that many seem to believe that it only applies to themselves.
