I guess it describes the situation that billionaires could easily end world hunger with only a fraction of their obscene wealth, but rather decide to perpetuate the system that makes them rich but is responsible for the problem in the first place, while simultaneously pretending to value philanthropy.
Billionaires philanthropy = murder rebranded as a media-effective PR stunt
At least that's what I read from this.
Yeah, I interpreted it as a juxtaposition between the feel-good rhetoric of philanthropy and future tech utopias, and the actually-existing system that someone like Musk participates in, which may actually consider killing all the hungry people as a viable solution if it happened to get a good quarterly return to shareholders or whatever.
