Technology is the most potent agent of change. It is an amplifier of our human capabilities", Slat wrote in The Economist. "Whereas other change-agents rely on reshuffling the existing building blocks of society, technological innovation creates entirely new ones, expanding our problem-solving toolbox.

Too bad the change-agents create entirely novel, unremitting difficulties

Solving problems can introduce new, unexpected problems, but not always.

Change can be painful, or at least uncomfortable, but it is the way of life. Would you prefer the status quo indefinitely?

Even if I did, a preference for status quo is irrelevant.
In general I think technology is a good thing, but some of its effects on society and the environment are so detrimental.

I've heard of both on the media

I think ya'll just skim headlines and don't watch enough. Or watch the wrong channels.
