George Lopez made an interesting ramble tonight and then he stopped and realized he was rambling and he said, "Hey, I got my medical marijuana card, man. That just made sense to me."
I thought it was incredible that he was free to say that. I am not free at my job to say ANYTHING about my medical marijuana card and would quite possibly get fired if they knew.
I wish more celebrities that have their cards would talk about that in interviews or on camera when they had the opportunity to do so. There is so much stigma that goes with having a medical marijuana card and I don't like having to "stay in the closet" so to speak about my card and the benefits of the substance.
(Mods feel free to move this.)

A couple thoughts...

1.) celebrities don't talk about their prescription medications and carry their scripts around all the time, should cannabis be different?

2.) Many celebrities have been open about marijuana use for a long time anyway (i.e. snoop dogg)

But I do relate to the desire to have celebrities talk more openly about medical marijuana (and marijuana in general). Many of them do though.

I didn't know the issue was hushed up like that. I always thought medical marijuana was discussed, accommodated and completely tolerated over in Cali.

^^^^^ But can you smoke on the street if you have a medical card ?

^ Thats like saying somebody who is having a panic attack or seizure cant pop an Ativan while on the street.

I want to live in a medical state....

but until something gets passed federally that wont happen....

It doesn't make much sense to me, either, but smoking in the middle of the street is probably construed as exposing the public (including children... "THINK OF THE CHILDREN") to a drug that really isn't 100% accepted as medicine.

I think it's more of a keep-it-behind-closed-doors-and-we-won't-knock-those-bitches-down kind of thing

They should make it legal to eat marijuana foods in public with a medical card. No secondhand smoke issues.

Its real easy to take medical cookies and brownies and repackage them at home in plain plastic wrap and take them in a lunch bag to work. But you can't SAY "Guess what? These are my medicinal cookies!" without being tossed out the door. There are still a TON of people, mostly the entire educational system, that believes marijuana is a terrible thing. I work in the education system and they are not hearing one word about marijuana without telling the person saying, "BYE! GET OUT NOW!" Schools are low tolerance, no tolerance places where marijuana, although the kids use it, is NOT allowed to be spoken of and you are heard speaking about it, watch out. The ax won't be far behind.

Surprise! It basically is. Who the hell would know?

"Hey, kid with the cookie! I know that has THC extracted into oil in it! Put the cookie down and put your hands up!"
