CE&P social thread: why do the people I disagree with hate freedom so much?

the internet is detecting troll food. ignore droppersoap.

that and all posts require a lower case letter.
oh c'mon, trolling is fine in social threads! and honestly let's not pretend an administration has given two fucks about the constitution since...damn i think i'm too young to finish that thought properly :|

the constitution is nothing but a level of man made legal positions which are more difficult to change than others. nothing more. it sure as hell aint sacred in any way. although the process is more laboured, the document needs to stay in touch with modernity in order to maintain relevance. on a drug site, we should know better than most that just because it is written in law, it doesn't essentially follow that it is right or just.

as for droppersnuts, he conspicuously trolls all over ce&p.

But we've been taught since we were young that the founding fathers are infallible and know what the best decisions for society were 240 years in the future.

How dare you question them.

dude, really?
/srsly tho, i'm currently making the mistake of having checked my cp before turning on a cartoon to fall asleep to - fucks me every night, dunno why i do it... google can answer you far better than i can right now.

Its much more than legal decisions they are timeless guidelines/principles in which single handed maintain our way of life. Was the 14th amendment no one shall infringe on our rights to abuse substances? The constitution is a basic guideline to insure relative freedom and democracy nothing more nothing less.

I agree with this in theory.

But why do so many people who want to change the constitution seem to want to change it to reduce the rights defined?

I don't know if it's much to do with wants, but pragmatism. Considering the difficulty with getting changes through, and where political power lies, it's no surprise reductions are more likely to get enough support to get in. Also people react more readily to crime and crisise than good times.

But crime rates are falling. So shouldn't that mean an increase in recognized rights?

like i said, good times aren't really motivating for change. how are you going to get anything through the legislative process when there's a sense of complacency? you know the saying, "if it aint broke....".

i agree that there should be such increases. i just don't see it ever happening. at least in neither of our respective constitutions.

Hey guys why do liberal white people consider voter ID laws racist? I am lost on this topic.

Since voter fraud by impersonation seems to be extremely, extremely rare, some are skeptical of the stated reasons for voter ID laws. And some of the skeptics have noted that minorities are disproportionated represented among those without valid ID.

Okay I see the point but the conspiracy theory side makes me immediately think they are whining b/c it will make it harder for illegals/ dead people to vote. Living in nashvilles eastside and its seedy under belly I do not know many that do not have an ID. Heck you need one to get your 1rst of the month benefits lol.

i don't feel for someone who's unable to acquire identification so their vote can be confirmed. how much can someone possibly value their vote if they cannot purchase ID?

is it a lot over there? bit silly if it is.

how does one apply for a job or use a bank without id?

sorry, i just do not comprehend how a system would be functional while it discourages the use of personal id. granting your concern that minoriity are overrepresented by those without id, the requirement for it at voting IS indeed an issue. the bigger question than the voting rules is why so many people do not have id in order to make this a problem.
