CE&P social thread: why do the people I disagree with hate freedom so much?

burn all borders, within reason. free borders free markets free people. government exists for as little as possible outside of courts; local police and military, for clear and dierct protection of aforementioned borders/markets/people.

^I'm so sick of you "free market" guys that have cropped up so much here lately and you act like you are "off the right-wing hook" because you aren't religious and you fuck a lot of different people.

I also can't stand this coupling of freedom with environmental destruction. Environmental destruction will not bring any real prosperity, but will destroy it. Global Warming put the East Coast under water and cost well over 50 billion in damages. Environmental destruction takes opportunity away, it doesn't create it.

How the fuck do you other liberals deal with these Republican fucktards? I can't be anywhere near one when they start spouting their bullshit off. Believe it or not, I will beat somebody's ass over certain issues.

I might stand on my own on many issues, but damn, I know one thing about myself, I am not a Republican GOP asshole.

the hollywood school of mediation and diplomacy

mediation, diplomacy, and ineveitably, compromise....oh god. Oh fine, go ahead and pollute and destroy the planet for a few more decades...didn't wanna be too forthcoming. I want you capitalists to feel comfortable with needed changes okay? You guys want a war in Iraq for 20 years even though there is no legitimate reaon for it? Okay we'll compromise and let you guys have a 10 year war...deal?

And L2R, you are softer than a brand new pair of Nikes.

ok, i agree we need to hang every capitalist at the town square's place.

but i am just unsure how we identify who the town square is.

oh you must be referring to the turkey. am i correct in this interpretation?

Seriously, do you regular liberal poster ever come into contact with red-state GOPs or teabaggers? Where I live, it is a massive red-state anti-Obama white man, gun stashing, Global Warming-is-a-myth bunch of fucking idiots. How do you guys deal with it? I usually try to set aside my strong opinions or ignore it, but man...I really tore the fuck down on these old men yesterday. It was at my workplace too, but I can get away with it. But, I want more. Fuck this shit. I'm on EBT foodstamps and issues like Global Warming are important to me. I'm taking names. Fuck these stupid fucking Koch brothers' suckers. I hear one more thing about entitlements or how melting the polar ice caps would cause no change in weather patterns or sea levels and it's gonna be, put up or shut up. Get fucking real, or get fucking bent!

But, I'm interested your guys' offline experiences and how you calmly handled such fucking idiocy if you would please share...thank you.

That pretty much sums up where I live. Central California is one of the most agriculturally focused regions in the world and I have to deal with people insulting my political intelligence on a daily basis.

Haha, that guy in the video was something else, but I don't like the old man who came out later and tried to apologize for the crude behavior and pretend that "most of those tea baggers are reasonable." Whether they keep their cool or not, there's nothing very reasonable about these teabaggers. They have been swindled into this by wealthy extortionists. People here honeslty believe the false promises when in reality it's all about greed and bypassing environmental regulations. Common people aren't going to get anything from it. With one hand the Kochbaggers are promising jobs when in reality with the other they are intent on keeping the profits, not paying taxes, and keeping labor costs low i.e. without unions, they will feel free not to pay well, scrap benefits, and lay your ass off whenever they feel like it.

^you'll be better off once you acknowledge and accept that some of those loons are NOT being blinded and do it for ideological reasons, knowing it's not what's best for them.

Believe me when I tell you I'm not defending the Tea Party, laissez-fair capitalism or capitalism in general. However, the same rule can apply to any large movement really. For instance, the Occupy movement had it's egalitarian intellectuals, it's share of refined ideological supporters etc. But it also had it's loony, undereducated blowhards who really didn't understand the movement aside from being pissed off at the banks and the rich. When you get a large number of people together like OWS or the Tea Party, it's going to be either the intellectuals or the extremely wealthy/powerful driving the movement. Not to say there isn't a valid ideological framework involved in either movement, but many followers of both camps are simply having their passions exploited and aren't exactly intellectual movers and shakers.

exactly. such phenomena are not limited to economics/politics either
<insert comments to the effect that philosophy will always be the foremost cultural determinant here>

The puppy isnt hoping that the world falls into ruin out of spite?
