I scour pots and pans.
Plates break, glasses break.
(these are things that once held something)
I go through a lot of water.
(I sought to hold it in my hands and failed. Have you tried?)
One by one removing themselves
(I use both hands to help them out, "hurry along in the rush to the end")
Into the rinse and out to dry.

All these bus boys
All those dirty tables.
Napkins and towels
Make it clean.
Keep it clean.

In the buffet of things
we dig holes in the entrees.
Avoiding food poisoning.
Indulge in desserts.
(It is strange how we attempt the impossible,
this can't go on forever?)

I am a dishwasher.
I notice everything once held something.
It will come around again.
We can't hang on, you know we've tried.
Into the rinse and we will dry.

:P
I am currently unemployed is there anything else for me to do but post?!?
Even if someone would hire me as a dishwasher I could at least say that I am the 'god of catharsis' for dessert trays but alas....back to posting.

This really spoke to me. Trying to do too much with too little has been a problem of mine.

we forget that complex metaphores can sometimes be linked to everyday objectivity. Its all about mindfullness and i appreciate both the structure and message of the words. thanks for sharing.
