Catastrophic but not serious.

well deep down ~
the cycle doesnt finish, its only given a new perspective of its space in time,
from its opposite end once we go far enough.

like a fish in its fish bowl, we have a new adventure every time around!
but maybe this time deep down we will have the sense of a, Goldfish -
and realize how we can only grow large enough to suit the size of our bowl.

or, that our bowl is an illusion of restraint, and its actually a square, there is only so much more accessible space,
but what might be distracted are the presented points - which are only new angles to see from.
harder better faster stronger

This lecture is about the failings of capitalism, the green movement, and Hegel's theory of Spirit coming from the clean slate of post-"Global Warming". Primarily it's about the failings of capitalism through these subjects. So if capitalism fails and it isn't "serious" then what replaces it after the slate is clean?

Sorry I am filling space, I was forced to.

Jam: No transcript included with this Fora recording.
Capitalism is based on personal gain (self-image, self-concept).

Nothing wrong with it, except the illusion that you're gaining something.

The more one gains, the more one is trapped by one's possessions and has to guard against loss.

Gain is insecurity, worry, fear, repetitive habit, defense, and a growing mess (society).

Loss is "nothing to be insecure about" (security), "nothing to worry about" (lightheartedness), "nothing to fear losing" (fearlessness), "nothing to tie me down" (freedom), "nothing to defend" (relaxation), and increasing clarity (freedom from society).

The mind has this backward view of things that has to do a 180 at some point, and then "OMG...".

^ did you watch the lecture?

SHROOMS: Thanks for that link, I've been geeking out on fora all day- the most beautiful day of the season thus far holed up in my living room with my laptop; well worth while; tons of great stuff...
also good reading "Laphams quarterly" they are set up as mini anthologies on different topics edited by Lewis L...

he argues that western liberal democracy is the final or absolute form of social organization
in western liberal democracies, even in utopic ones run by altruistic representatives, far from everyone is happy with the situation
some like blue, some like yellow

for a society to be an absolute form of social organization, one of the basic criteria seems to me that everyone one would agree with it
that's not the case
