Casual hard drug usage?

You can say that you are above addiction, that your priorities are in line, and that it'll never happen to you all you want, we all did. At some point in time though it's going to eventually catch up to you, whether it be 6 months or 2 years, addiction is always a possibility when you are using drugs that have potential for dependency.

Dependency/addiction may not be blatantly obvious at first, but the thing is, once you do realize it, it's more than likely too late. I used opiates for over a year only a few times a month, but soon your time between doses shortens & you find yourself using more frequently and that's it. But looking back now, even when I was a casual user, I would experience w/d, but with my lack of knowledge at the time, I shrugged it off as being sick or just having tough times sleeping, not even thinking it was due to the drugs. Here I am now 3.5 years later on suboxone after my life took a shit on me and being as close to rock bottom as I have ever been.

I was addicted to meth back when I was making it, but that was several years ago. I still use from time to time but I keep it under control for the most part. Heroin I've never tried, got addicted to dilaudid once. Those withdrawls were enough to make sure I don't put myself in that situation again, but I still use opiates recreationally. Crack comedowns aren't worth it for me, I've smoked my share but I don't do plan to again.

for me in general when it comes to hard drugs, i take it to the extreme, i cant do it casually, or once inawhile. when i got hooked on heroin i lived to shoot up and shot up to live, pawned, shit parents ATM card. went to crack, sold EVERYTHING FAST got high everyday, lost my car over it. i cant use hard drugs casually, i'd love to buy an 8ball of crack everynow and then, or a bundle of herion, but i cant because i will want more and more. im not so fascinated with herion anymore but havent tried to do it casually yet. dont plan on it

Really not easy? Hmmmm, say that to anyone who's life as someone above me put it "took a shit on them". Do you think I first started banging dope everyday? No, I did oxy at first, no more than 4 times a month, then 5, then it became every 3 days in the blink of an eye, then daily. Then onto dope... so much cheaper than Oxy, I knew I could call up my dealer and get a few more points for the same price as 40 fags....

But did I plan that?
No.

It hits you like a fucking brick, and holds you down, lifting that brick is fucking hell.

I've maintained a pretty casual relationship with cocaine. I've done about 12 grams over the past 3 years. I enjoy doing a few lines with some friends but its too expensive and its not something I'd enjoy doing a lot.

Look I'm sorry if I offended anybody here that wasn't my intention I just used the wrong set of words.

I keep my usage down to a once a month thing and I just thoughti t was easy. Didn't occur to me that everybody else = me.

I'm truly sorry if I offended anybody and I'll take my post down.

Most people know of certain drugs but are not sure what the effects are or health risks etc. While using drugs, people are also less able to do well in school, sports, and other activities. It's often harder to think clearly and make good decisions.

People can do dumb or dangerous things that could hurt them — or other people — when they use drugs. Always remember that drugs don't solve problems, of course. And using drugs often causes other problems on top of the problems the person had in the first place.

but i rounded up a nice flow of cash by gathering donations for a pledge for some event annd taking that straight to my dealer. ;)

How can you say that with a nice cheerful wink at the end like it was nothing? I'd be so ashamed if I'd been driven to do that for drugs...

Anyway has anyone noticed if ever you read any reports on Erowid for the truely "addictive" drugs (Heroin and Meth etc) in the info box under dose it always says "Repeated"? As in, this is the person's lifetime experience with the drug. You have to search really hard for a one-off experience in mg where as person has only used once. That always makes me stop and think as to whether I'd be able to handle 'trying' one of those drugs just once.
