I'm going on a trip to Hawaii from NY in august and i want bring with me:

1) Brand new glass bubbler (this has never been smoked from and it is made from very thick glass but it is pocket sized)
2) 6 cigars
3) possibly a grinder for my bud
4) a pack of cigarettes
5) and rolling papers

On the return trip i was hoping on bring a few dubs back with me.

I could use some tips on how to bring them on the plane for the trip to Hawaii and the return trip without getting caught.

as long as they all haven't been used (or cleaned to brand new standards) then theres nothing they can do, just say it's all for tobacco..

don't do it, son. You can ruin your entire life in one little moment of indiscretion. I know it doesn't sound like much to you now, but it is a very serious offence. a federal offence.

I Didn't realise you wanted to bring drugs back as well, thats not cool dude. And since when were tobacco products illegal? I Brought a bong & 2 pipes back from jamaica when I went over there (granted a few years ago, but still?)

wiimanis, this is a harm reduction site. No one is going to give you tips. You must also be 18 to have the tobacco products and bubbler and such. Also, I've been to Hawaii 3x (I have family who retired out there) and you go through something similar to customs on the way back to the mainland. They have dogs and they check for agricultural stuff (you can't bring fruit, etc back with you). So, you will get caught. If you get some weed while you're there, roll a joint and smoke it all. You can buy it back in New York too (I'm from NY as well). It's just a stupid risk that REALLY isn't worth taking --- why not take some time off from bud (I'm assuming you're going with family if you're 16) and enjoy your low tolerance when you get back? I just did this when I went to Aruba for a week, and it was definitely worth it.

Plus, if you are traveling with your parents and get caught with drugs, they will get in trouble too. You can bring the cigs if anything, but I would leave the rest of it at home --- just not worth the risk. Also, while you can get almost anything through JFK (i'm from the city, not sure where you are) you will not be able to get it out of Hawaii. In my flying experience, most airports have MUCH tighter security for drugs and such than JFK does.

Newbierock, tobacco products in the US are illegal for people under 18 (some counties now, like Nassau and Suffolk [Long Island]) you actually need to be 19 to buy cigs/go into a headshop/etc.

Oh please, he is trying to bring clean things onto a plane. The grinder is questionable but what he is asking to do isn't illegal.

So far as I know (which, I find slowly, isn't everything), you are allowed to posses the items you listed, at least in NH you are. You just cannot BUY them. If they are clean and your parents permit it, you may put all those items into your checked luggage. You are flying US to US, you do not have to clear customs, and it is unlikely that your bag will be randomly broke open and searched, though it happens.

You should know the consequences of your actions before you take them. Make sure you take the time to check.

Don't sneak drugs onto planes. It's a bad idea. Don't sneak used paraphernalia onto planes. It's a bad idea. There are drug dogs, and they can do work, I've seen things.

You are very wrong about this. Hawaii, since it's in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, DOES have some form of customs when you're returning, even though its US to US. It's more of an agricultural check point than customs I suppose. You don't have to fill out a declaration form or anything like that, BUT there are a whole bunch of things you aren't allowed to bring back with you, and agriculture agents check for it. http://www.bestplaceshawaii.com/tips/hints/agricultural_inspection.html

Something quick I found on google --- lists everything you can/can't bring back into the mainland US, and states that your bag will be inspected.

My family got searched, they tore ALL of our shit apart because we were trying to smuggle back fresh mangos wrapped in sheets, actually.
