I took 40mg of dextroamphetamine a few weeks ago. I'd say I'm moderately experienced with amphetamines; I've taken up to 50mg in one go and have consumed pretty large amounts on binges. I stayed up for four days on them once, etc.

For whatever reason (maybe because I hadn't taken speed in a while) the dexedrine hit me harder than I've ever been hit. My heart felt really fucked up. I'm used to having a fast heart beat, but my heart was skipping beats, going scarily fast, and there was tightness to the left of my chest and my upper left arm and tingling in my fingers. I know this isn't anything out of the ordinary with amphetamines (though it'd never happened to me before), vasoconstriction and such. Smoking weed didn't exactly help as you can imagine, and as the amphetamine was wearing off I did a small bump of MDMA. I know this wasn't very smart.

To get to the point: the chest tightness and tingling in the left of my chest and left arm continued all the next day (I hadn't slept btw), though my heart was beating at a normal pace and I didn't feel remotely high. It didn't abate in the slightest. I was really worried I'd damaged my heart and ended up calling my parents (both nurses) later in the night as it'd been more than 24 hours after dosing and the tightness wasn't going away. They concluded that I was having an anxiety attack and told me to try to sleep it off. This did work, I woke up in the middle of the night and the tightness was less, when I woke up in the morning it was gone.

What happened? I have no intention of doing amphetamine again, it was profoundly uncomfortable and I really thought there was a possibility of dying. Maybe I'm just being a whimp but I've never heard of this happening, my friends (very experienced) thought I'd damaged my heart at the time based on the symptoms I was experiencing. I'm just curious what this was.

Have you taking dextroamphetamine in the past? I'm not talking about adderall (yes I know its 75% d-AMP), but actual dexadrine spansules. I find a dose of 50mg d-AMP is far stronger of a high and lasts for far longer than taking a 50mg Adderall Pill.

I have never experienced such effects, not even after a 3 day binge consuming a total of ~500mg of d-AMP. I would probably have to agree with your parents on the notion it was a panic attack. "I really thought there was a possibility of dying" that point right there is what brought me to my conclusion. If you were simply high on speed and not having a panic attack, your mind wouldn't think such irrational thoughts, as your experience in the past should have you knowing that 50mg of d-AMP isn't a terribly large dose. I've taken single doses upwards of 150mg. Anxiety is a side effect of taking speed.

I have had many panic attacks in my life. The best thing you can do is sit alone in your room (or somewhere else where you feel 100% safe while there), and literally speak out loud to yourself, tell yourself what you're experiencing is nothing more than a minor panic attack, it will pass for sure, and everything will be okay again for sure. I must stress the part where you literally speak out loud to yourself. When I get panic attacks, I can not for the life of me rationalize the situation in my head, but if I actually speak to myself, it works.
