can't swallow pills

My girlfriend is prescribed Paxil. She can't swallow pills, because she can't ignore that she's swallowing the pill, and she throws up. What is an effective way of taking Paxil without swallowing the whole pill. Does crushing it up in yogurt or orange juice mess up its effectiveness? thanks
 
Hi,
I usally just put the pill under my tonuge if its doesn't have a bad taste. After about 3-5 minutes its compeltly disolved.
Don't do this with Rohypnol though, it will colour your whole mouth blue :)
I doubt crushing it in youghurt would make it any less effective though - but honestly, perhaps she should learn to swallow a pill without throwing up? :)
 
a very usefull technique to ingest (vitamin) pills for me is by eating some food a banana for example and when its molded and ready to ingest throw in the pill within the banana pulp and swallow. wont feel a thing most of the times. good luck.
 
1) Go to large supermarket-type store (Walmart, K-Mart, whatever)
2) Go to pharmacy section
3) Procure pill grinder
4) Grind pills and enjoy in choice of food.

yeah, dont dissolve it under your tounge, i dont know if its bad for you... but theres absolutly no reason to do this..
 
Put the pill in a spoonful of applesauce or baby food or something, and it will go down without you feeling it. :)
