When i take like 5-10mg or valium or just 1mg of xanax the shit just knocks the fuck out of me. I sleep for like 20hrs. Is there anyway to get a nice feeling off them? Am i taking too little like with opiates, if i take 2 or 3 percs i just get sleepy. But if i take 9 percs i feel good as shit. Is it the same with the valium, if i take like 30mg of valium will i get a euphoric feeling instead of a " drowsy i wanna sleep forever feeling"?

benzo euphoria can be very good, like miss "NYMPH" said ,takin more will really put you to sleep so experiment with lower doses, hell maybe you should try different benzos

That's the rumor with the kids in your neighborhood, eh?
Benzos just aren't for certain people. For me, they either put me to sleep or make me feel horrible and depressed for 3-5 days after putting me to sleep, depending on the type.

Benzos do very different things for different people, and Ativan, for one, causes me the aforementioned periods of depression in all doses I've tried. 6, 4, 2 and 1mg. Nothing else was being ingested, otherwise I wouldn't make such a statement? The neighborhood rumors comment was about Klonopin being less sedating in general, I don't see how that makes sense.

whatever you say boss, i guess i am just an innocent victim of the notorious neighborhood rumor that klonopin is less sedating and less likely to knock you off your feet like xanax.......and by the way, a single benzo will not CAUSE depression for 3-5 days, they primarily effect your c.n.s not the damned chemical balances in your brain

Like some people you have a very low tolerance with benzo's. Like stated above just take 1/4-1/2
the dose of benzo's you normaly take. If it still rocks you then maybe it's time to raise the white flag & retire from benzo's...

I don't know what you are expecting, but from what I understand, benzos are SUPPOSED to deppress your CNS. You're never going to be able to run around jumping and screaming "yee-haw, I just ate five k-pins!" (This last thing is a feeble attempt at humor, sorry if it's not funny)
BUt seriously, my suggestions for a nice benzo chill-out time would be half a gram of clonazepam (klonopin), avoiding caffeinated drinks before and after you take it (caffeine is a stimulant).
I said half a gram because a full gram normally knocks the shit out of me. To give you an idea, I am a 27-year old male, I am 5'4" and weigh 136 lbs. Try extrapolating that to your size and see if it works.
As for the benzos causing depression, I would say this depends on whether you already have some kind of imbalance, in which case you would have to seek treatment.

i've been taking precription xanax and valium for 3yrs no matter how much i take i don't get knocked out or even chilled out. i wish i could now they just make me feel normal with out then, forget about it im hooked for life. example tried takind 12mg ak xanax and 20mg of valium nothing its a damn same

I really hope you are talking about half a milligram...

Did you learn this in medical school, or is something you picked up on the wall in a bathroom? It is well known that some people have severe adverse reactions to benzodiazepinexs, just like any other drugs. In the future please get your facts straight before posting.

nope, but i am in collage now and have worked toward a career with medicine for quite awhile(not to mention growing up with a neurologist and physcian as a father.... ), i also make sure i know what im ingesting and and what should happen and what shouldnt happen before i ingest a drug.....im not claiming to be smart just simply claiming im not stupid like you......and the basic laws of chemistry and science make it impossible for a single dose to cause depression for three to five days....dont say my "facts" are wrong if you cant come up with a better reason than, "well...it happened to me"

I think the different reactions might just have to do with waht kind of mood you're in, how tired you already are and what you're doing.
I can take....hmmm I think the most was 16... .5 mg of xanax and be up all night, or take one and fall right alseep.
If I had little or no sleep the night before one can knock me out. Also, if all I'm doing is lying on a couch watching a movie, bored, chances are I will doze off, but I'm probably not going to fall asleep on a barstool. Know what I mean? Just my personal experience.

Look at benzodiazepines in general, they have a lot of uses, from helping one come down from a stimulant overdose in the hospital, to getting people to sleep, to easing anxiety attacks and just daily anxiety. What makes it so hard for you to believe that a drug with so many uses couldn't produce nasty side-effects in certain people? As for chemical imbalances, I have none as far as I know, as I've never been depressed, had panic attacks, etc. For all I know maybe I'm a little lacking in something insignificant and that's the reason lorazepam doesn't like me. You could say I've unscientifically researched it given that a few days off in the past year when bored I've tried varying doses of it, all with the same basic result that takes a few days to get over.

There are a few factors ...
1) Dose - as FN told you, try taking less.. some people are really sensitive to benzos and pass the "euphoric, drunk feeling" and go straight to the "unconscious" part.. hey, maybe you need MORE... just play around!
2) The drug in question - I find that for recreation, Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan, and Valium all make for a good time... others (like Halcion or Restoril) are really just tools for controlling a bad trip or knocking you out... they are not fun, regardless of the dose...
3) The way YOU react to the benzo - look, some people don't get "high" off benzos, they just fall asleep and thats the end of that, youmight be one of the unlucky few (actually there seem to be a lot) that just don't "get" the benzo thing ...
Now, as for DEPRESSION - yes, this is VERY REAL .. in the simplest terms, think of it as a "rebound effect" .. you get the euphoria of the benzos but it's followed by an extreme low, a HORRIBLE DEPRESSION, almost suicidal even... it's documented and established... furthermore, I have experienced it myself and I could name a number of others that have as well...
Questions answered?
Oh yeah, I'm sure it was a typo but a half-GRAM of ANY BENZO is going to put you into a 30 hour coma or so.. perhaps you ment half-MILLIGRAM?

OOOOPS!
My apologies! Of course I meant half a MILLIGRAM. Half a gram is probably enough to knock the shit out of a blue whale.
My bad!

Ill personally speak for the depression thing....
and its not like i binged one night on 60mg valium and then was depressed for the next 3 days.
its more of, i abused valium continually for about a month and a half, and now find myself very depressed in thoughts UNLESS im taking more valium.....
definately the rebound-ish effect, or even just a shift in perception, maybe not neccessarily a true 'imbalance' or whatever the fuck the current theory of depression's true nature is.
/just my experience
