Heroin Cannot Orgasm on Opioids. How to Fix?

Yeah i saw the one about methadone. Did you do heroin? Apparently if your are a heroin addict and start using methadone it boosts the impotencey. I never did methadone I did subs, sorry you are dealing with that. I read in a medical book that is old and I would imagine is not on the internet. It's for anesthesiologist's it talks about iv opiodes and heroin in the book and how it effects the central nervous system, cardiovascular system and sex drive. Depending on how strong your dose is which is hard to keep consistent, the relaxation felt from the drug throws off your body systems alertness, and they almost try to fall asleep on you. The classic heroin overdose is stopping breathing because your lungs stopped working. This is also why the withdrawal is such a night mare. Your entire system has to rebuild afterwards.

I've been on methadone maintenance since 2018, I was on subs for 2 1/2 years before that and switched to methadone because I kept ODing from shooting fentanyl. Also the Suboxone was giving me horrible depression

Dude that shit sucks so bad. The xylazine like counter acts the opiate high so you barely get to enjoy the the high at all, but you still get physically addicted to it and need it to stay well. I got sober for 4 years cus of it but I got back into meth.

I hope the best for your recovery, I hear methadone isn't easy to get off.

Yeah the tranq withdrawals are painful too I've heard.

I was using crystal once in awhile and then I got a prescription for my AD(H)D and I've been clean from cocaine and crystal since then.

It is hard to get off (methadone)but I don't know if I'm ever going to at this point

Help I have this problem now too. I can't orgasm now.

I' think it happens when I take my daily prescribed gabapentin 2400 mg daily. It must desensitized my penis. Other meds I'm on might contribute to.

I guess I'd rather be able to have sex then not be able to because I wouldn't be orgasming either way...

I have no experience with gabapentin. It says online sometimes it causes sexual dysfunction. Do you need the gaba for pain?

Yes I'm in pain when I don't take it but if I don't take it for 3 days the w/d is so shitty.. it's like debilitating anxiety and hot and cold sweats for me it's unreal. I can substitute a benzos for gabapentin usually but I' got problems with some other stuff aT*mand can't take them

Yeah I know alot of people really like gabapentin. Try to bust nuts like all week and see if it is the gabapentin, idk if like going after pleasure but taking on more pain is the right choice. Especially if you still work.

Are you ever able to orgasm? Like in the past month or so? Have you ever talked to your doctor about it?

When I'm on Heroin or other strong opioids, I cannot orgasm.

Is there any way to fix this other than not taking h/opioids?

It bothers my wife and I need to do something so we can bone when I'm high without leaving her upset that I don't get off.

At its peak, I was using 3+ bundles a day. I kicked heroin in 2017. One of the most difficult times I've experienced. I was detoxed inpatient. They used methadone. 35mg on day one titrated to 5mg on day 6. Was discharged at noon and cut loose no more methadone.


When I first started in 2015, sex was better than ever. That didn't last long.

By the time I had a habit, I couldn't get an erection, even using tadalafil or sildenafil.

Even the first few months after, my sex drive was nonexistent.

Using opioids or not using opioids is a choice.

I don't say it's an easy choice. Eight years later, the idea of taking opioids makes me experience anxiety and nausea. I'm grateful that it's behind me.

Footnote: I am not drug free. I still slam mdma, methamphetamine and cocaine. I have played with almost every drug out there. I don't see that changing.

Opiods, benzodiazapines, and nicotine are the only drugs that have enslaved me.

Yeah I don't know if I'd do that willingly.

What I can do is taper to 400-800 mg a day and see if it' helps. No I haven't talked to my doctor about it.

If I ct gabapentin I won't want to touch myself
