(answered) Cannot get a profile pic to appear on my profile!

I've been trying to post a profile picture and just can't seem to get it to work! I got an avatar without too much trouble, but can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong with this.

First I tried linking directly to where I found the picture but that didn't work, the URL address just showed up in the entry box but no picture appeared in the top left-hand corner. I tried saving the picture and then uploading it to a image hosting website, resized to 100x75, but it still wouldn't work. I tried entering the URL both with and without the http:/ at the front but it doesn't make any difference.

What am I doing wrong?? :? I'm so confused, lol.

Are you going to Settings > Edit Profile Picture? The "Picture" option in your profile is for a plain-text URL to the photo.
 
Maybe you added the URL without deleting the http:// which is added to the field by default? Dunno?

Anyway, I just added it for you manually.

I must be going soft in my old age.

Lol, thank you!! I actually had read all the FAQ, and also gone through the forums to read a previous support post on posting a profile picture. I tried the URL both with and without the http:// in the entry but nothing would work for me, I couldn't figure it out. Anyway, I appreciate you adding it for me! :)
 
I got the same problem.. Tried removing http:// from the link, tried plain url, tried
tags and it won't work..
