Thanks for your imput Stickreid, though I have to say I can def see headaches being a symptom. One of THC's tricks is that it expands the blood vessels in your body increasing bloodflow to many parts of the body including the brain (this is often one of the reasons if not THE reason for bloodshot eyes & the reason your body feels so relaxed) so if your brain is used to the increase in bloodflow then withdrawing from THC withdraws the increased amount of blood that a stoner usually has flowing to the brain. Asprin and other over the counter pain pills work in a similar way to releave headaches by thining the blood allowing for more blood to flow through the bloodstreams resulting in mroe blood flow to your head. Headaches are most commonly a result of poor or lack of blood flow to the brain. Correct me if I'm wrong, its what I've found throughout my research though.

this still does not make sense. I smoke 5+ times a day and I don't get any withdrawls if I don't smoke for a few days. it's the same with my friends. I still believe that withdrawls are BS

Lol i have WD's right now. I get the same problems... insomnia, lack of appetite, hypertension, anxiety. Crazy dreams as well... i usually dream a lot of fighting and fucking during this time. I take breaks almost all the time... i hate when weed becomes the focus of my life... i almost always smoke tough when i go back though.
The guy who said quitting gets easier the more you do it is right.

Stickreid... WD's from weed are very real but for most people it takes time to develop that level of dependency. When i was 13+ i smoked heavy on and off but never got them, i started noticing them in my twenties. My guess is that you either havent been smoking that long or are just genetically gifted.

Almost all heavy, longterm users will experience WD's eventually if they take a break.

^ Just because you haven't experienced it you're calling BS? Even considering the number of experienced smokers who have posted in this thread outlining their symptoms? Now that doesn't make sense.

I've been pretty much perpetually high for 8 years now. In that time I've had 2 breaks, one of 6 days one of 4 days. To be honest the first 2 days I still feel pretty high, by day 3 I can't sleep (exercise and Nytol are enough for me though) and I'm a bit moody and narky. There are definite 'withdrawals' they just aren't on a par with more physically addictive drugs. For me though it's more like trying to give up sex. If it's there I just can't say no. If it's not there, well I could be happier, but life goes on.

sorry my question was, if you smoke spliffs with tobacco but dot smoke cigs at all, is it possible to think your more addicted to the weed then you actually are?

Definately. I used to think I was craving a spliff every hour. I quit tobacco entirely 3 years ago, but back then I'd be climbing the walls all day, craving my first smoke when I got back from work. Now going all day without a smoke is nothing, and when I get home from work, 1 j is plenty. I don't feel the compulsion to smoke 5 like I did when I smoked tobacco. Without the nicotine craving my pot 'addiction' is really more like a sex 'addiction', it just feels good... so I want it.

i dont sleep da twell if im not ripped or burnt out, also i find i dont eat alot if im not high doesn't both me that much cuz i still smoke daily. But if i haven't smoked in a while i jsut drink tea to relax really tea/herbal tea helps with so much things and i have a gud variety

Gotten it plenty of times.

Exercise is the best for physical symptoms. For everything else, just do stuff that keeps you from thinking about it.

For me, 80-90% of my "addiction" is just the fact that I can't think of anything else to do when I'm bored than get high.

OP go 2 health food store and pick up some melatonin, the dreams & restlessness i stronglet believe are trigger (by lack of) melatonin. gl

for me the worst withdrawal symptom was loss of apatite/inability to eat more than a few bites of food. sometimes i would need to smoke weed even when i didn't want to get high, just to be able to eat dinner. and then if i ran out, i could not eat a proper meal for at least 5 days. i would also get a constant headache, stomach discomfort, extremely vivid dreams, anxiety and other milder symptoms like excessive salivation.

Hello all. Just wanted to drop in an update. I'm now at week 2 and 3 days from quitting the ganj, and I'm now able to sleep wonderfully at night & all of my other symptoms have dissipated, including the wierd vivid dreams. Daily excercise has boosted my appetite to about the same levels that I had when I'd get really baked and have the munchies also.

wow. i've only heard of loss of appetite, sleeplessness and anxiety as part of withdrawal. i've never had/heard of headaches or stomach problems myself nor have i heard of anyone else having them.

search around the forums, theirs plenty of similar reports back in CD history.
Keep up the good work gzus.

I already have a small appetite, but when I stop smoking I can lose my appetite entirely for 6-7 days. My blood sugar drops and I feel continually depressed and lethargic. THC is the only drug I know of that can make me eat. Now I know how a cancer patient feels.

Well last night was the first time in 4-5 months I haven't had a bong at night time (or during the day either)

Felt like I was fucking TWEAKING I couldn't sleep till around 4 30 AM lol. It sucked.

Apart from the cravings and lack of sleep (you become reliant on weed to sleep pretty quickly) I didn't notice any W/D's...

quitting daily weed smoking was the best thing i ever did.
sure, you have to put up with 2 weeks of being a wreck but its worth it. so much more clear minded and motivated to actually do things

Cheers for that dude, it's definitely some motivation to keep on going instead of pulling more cones lol.

How often do you smoke now (if you do)? I have no intentions on fully quitting just the daily part.

its been almost 2 weeks since i quit and things are starting to feel better :)

i remember though on the 3rd day waking up at 3am like i had been feeling shit and not quite right

but its worth it now i reckon, u just gotta stick to it

^^yeah man, waking up at stupid times n sleeping really lightly

it sucks, red647, but its just something thats gotta be done
