Not exactly the Bhang recipe. I'm just talking about simmering or boiling the cured bud (or even raw plant material) in water for ~20 minutes, and drinking it.
Why not? I know a lot of actives in Cannabis are technically fat-soluble, but that doesn't mean that those active constituents wouldn't be active in a tea, even if you didn't add butter or something. We got fat in our bodies, and if you ate a quesadilla earlier that day, I'm sure it would mix in the stomach/intestines.
Regardless of the science, I tried this last night, with just one bud, and was definitely affected. I had beautiful, musical dreams, and remember waking up a few times in the night with a very altered mind, in a good, productive way, with a deep appreciation for the beauty and order of the (my?) universe.
I am surprised this isn't a more common method of administration. I think people overthink the whole decarb/fat-cooking process with bud. It's not complicated. You can even eat the bud straight and get an effect. But, in my experience, even more so with a tea.
I encourage you to try it. It was pleasant.
