My dad has developed an extremily strange stomach condition, he has been to multiple doctors and even had a little camera inserted down his throath and into his stomach. The doctors found nothing wrong or unusual. The worst period was about 6-8 months ago however now its starting again. He describes the feeling as a 'snake' in your intestines. He currently is treating himself with Cammomile tea and St. Johns Wort tea. My dad smoked (didn't inhale too much tough) once with me and said that he felt some relief in his back.

I have access to high grade marijuana at the moment, Champagne strain. I smoked it and felt very sedated and felt it possed a lot of characteristics of a medicinal marijuana strain.

My dad is a lot more anti-marijuana then people raised and born in N.A. where as with us in 1989 we just ended a long period of communism and dictatorship.

My father doesn't like the marijuana smell, and hates having to smoke it but the stuff I have is 1-2 hits and you are good so I hope not too much discomfort will be done.

I would be indebted forever if you guys could reffer me to a marijuana (or medical marijuana) page with information on what happens to the stomach and the G.I. tract after smoking a light dose of high grade cannabis.

I'm sorry to hear that your dad is having GI issues. If he doesn't like smoking it and doesn't like the smell, I'd recommend a vaporizer (Volcano or VaporBrothers, any other brand is worthless). That, and also mix in some ground up lemongrass or chamomile in there with the cannabis (in order to mask the taste).

As far as the pharmacological action of cannabinoids insofar as reducing GI discomfort... CB1 receptor agonism causes the hormones responsible for your sense of "well-being" in your gut to be much more effective/potent. That, 11-OH-THC (a metabolite of THC) is speculated to be an anti-inflammatory.

I'd still strongly encourage that your dad keep seeing GI specialists. Self-medicating isn't a long-term solution.

^ yea for real. cannabis as a medicine is usually for chronic pain, but if there is a cure it would be better to pursue that than to mask it with weed.

if the doctors found nothing unusual than it's likely he might just be "backed up" internally. this is common with people used to north american or eastern european diets where it's usual to eat cooked foods at each meal, and the symptoms are often described as "snakes." the most effective intestinal cleanse i've heard of so far is pepsin, which digests shit on the sides of the intestine walls (yeah, nasty) and will allow it to join the rest of the faecal matter for excretion.

if you want more information, feel free to PM me. i'm from the GTA myself and know a few people with chrons who have reputable docs for treatment of GI tract issues.

as far as the weed goes, reading some truth from a government source might also enlighten, but i wouldn't encourage him to get high if he really doesn't want to. http://www.nih.gov/news/medmarijuana/MedicalMarijuana.htm

My love has had a bleeding intense ulcer since age 14 (bad home life), she's smoked daily for ten years. It's the only thing that lends relief, but the main thing is a vegan diet. She hasn't had a flair up of pain in years.

IDK look up MOM not too hard, medical is a little hard in this country now. Or find a deadhead. :) Good Luck
