Hindus believe something along the lines that cannabis is the physical embodiment of Lord Shiva (the supreme diety). I'm not Hindu or I'd know the story. It is said that Siddhartha (the first Buddha) ate and used nothing but cannabis for 6 years while attaining enlightenment.
For all the things that cannabis provides a natural resource for, it is the #1 best natural source for that thing. Food, fiber, paper, fuel, etc. Not the #2 or #3 source for those natural materials, but #1. It is by far the most useful plant on Earth. Plus it heals just about every ailment.
I believe that cannabis is God's greatest gift to mankind. Human civilization would not exist without it.
