I would like to present my opinion on cannabis for those who are interested in spiritual matters. I believe cannabis to be far and away the most powerful psychedelic in terms of facilitating lasting spiritual growth but also by far the most dangerous.

Other psychedelics, like LSD and mushrooms are great at a producing a fantastic one off experience of spiritual splendor. The problem is, the next day much of the experience is just a memory and you fall back into your old thought patterns quite quickly no matter how clearly you saw past them the night before. I'm not saying LSD and mushrooms are useless for spiritual growth, far from it. But they really don't even compare with cannabis in that department, for me at least.

Of course cannabis can also produce great spiritual splendor but it lacks the visual qualities and the sheer power of the aforementioned drugs. What makes cannabis superior however, is two things. The first is that it can be used every day in almost any circumstances, thus giving you the opportunity to get very accustomed to the state of mind it induces. The second is that because the state it produces is not quite as far away from every day consciousness as LSD and mushrooms, it is much easier to examine the mind and then retain the insights gained into sobriety. LSD and mushrooms tend to do all the work for you, lifting you very high but then dropping you back down. Cannabis on the other hand, gives you a smaller lift thus giving you the chance to practice raising your consciousness yourself. With cannabis plus meditation, I have been able to reach higher states of consciousness than I have ever been able to reach with LSD and mushrooms. Smoking cannabis daily, turns my mind inward, thus making meditation come almost naturally to me. LSD and mushrooms are so much fun, that it's tempting to not even bother turning the mind inward and instead simply enjoy the sensual qualities the drugs have to offer.

The downside to cannabis is its addictive nature. I have never been able to use it without developing some degree of dependence. For me, it is the most addictive of all drugs because it always convinces me that its good for me by giving me so many spiritual insights. WHen I use heroin or crack, I know the drug is not doing anything good for me except making me feel good. Cannabis on the other hand, has truly changed my life and made me into a calmer, wiser, more aware person.

For spiritual growth, I recommend a period of frequent cannabis use coupled with intense spiritual practice. You may intersperse LSD and mushroom trips as you see fit. Once you have learned to keep your mind consistently turned inward, it is time to phase out the drugs and continue in meditation with a sober mind.

I'd have to disagree. Cannabis has opened my eyes a little bit. But not even close to that of a good dose of NN-DMT.
Cannabis does a great job of easing anxiety. So does mushrooms.

Well, since cannabis usually doesn't cause hallucinations, I wouldn't really classify cannabis as some psychedelic drug.

Pyschadellic effects extend well beyond the realm of hallucinations. They can include all kinds of changes in perception or thinking which cannabis seems to do a lot of the latter. I'm not saying its the most powerful but it is indeed very strong.

In my opinion cannabis has psychedelic qualities but it isn't a true psychedelic. It can also have sedative or stimulant qualities even though I wouldn't classify it as a true sedative or stimulant. It can have dissociating effects too but it is not really a real dissociative. Cannabis is cannabis.

I have received full blown open and closed eye visuals from cannabis. I would call it a psychedelic.

What do you mean when you say it is by far the most dangerous?

Cannabis has helped me realize things I never would have realized. For instance I used to be obsessed with Lil Wayne and I absolutely hated it and I didn't know why, but then one day when I had a really strong head high I signed into Facebook and I realized my Facebook email (which I created when I was like 13) was "Lilwayneisthebestrapperalive" which meant I was brainwashing myself every time I signed into Facebook. Ever since I changed my Facebook email I stopped being obsessed with that terrible "artist".

There have been times I got a good head high and looked back on conversations and realized the person was being sarcastic. I got a strong head high the other day and realized how much I hate my tattoo. I mean I've hated it ever since I got it (it was an impulse decision) but that was when I actually admitted to myself "This is awful, I fucked up, I want it out of my skin"

Could this be harmful? It worries me because when I realize these things it gives me a bad high and I have to ride out the anxiety hours after the weed is gone, but it also helps me grow I think.

What are harmful effects of cannabis? I've had even more "harmful" effects from DXM. DXM has shown me the world in ways that it took me forever to learn to accept. DXM is what made me question free will, if we're really living, using DXM made me realize we're just apes, we're just a bundle of trillions of little sacks of organelles which are in turn just a bundle of non-living things, our thoughts and feelings are just chemical signals, our senses are just a hologram created inside our brain (like we don't feel with our hand, we feel with our brain, the brain just creates the illusion that the hand is what is feeling something), etc.

I've never done anything spiritual apart from cannabis and DXM. I'm looking into psychedelics like mushrooms and LSD because I want to see what they're like.
