Yesterday I flew from London (Ontario) into Winnipeg, Manitoba to visit some relatives. The morning of the flight I cooked up some cannabutter...I simmered 1.5g of weed into 1/8 pound of butter. I made two peanut butter sandwiches using maybe a tablespoon of the cannabutter and tossed them in my carry-on.
12:15pm - scarfed down the edibles before the security check
12:45 - the high starts to come on and continues to rise until after takeoff.
1:45 - Peaking. This is the interesting part, because being in an aircraft changes everything. I was getting decently strong, maybe level two or three, visuals. Patterned fabrics moving, faces in the clouds beneath me, and mosaics moving across the engine and the open blue sky.
The body high was significant, although not as sedating as I hoped. Feeling the engines rev up and the plane take off was an incredible experience. The only problem was that if I closed my eyes I got very disoriented and felt like the plane was tumbling downwards (it was a lot like carsickness).
I spent most of this part staring out the window, in awe. The clouds were so beautiful. In some cases they were starting to be replicated fractally, which was cool.
2:30 - Still plateauing, and starting to experience some nausea. This was frustrating but not entirely surprising considering where I was.
Also, my mouth was really dry.
3:30 - the aircraft is starting to descend, and so am I. I'm glad, because it would be nice to have my wits about me when we land.
4:00 - We land in Winnipeg. I stay high for another hour or two but nothing eventful happens.
Overall it was very fun. I should have only had one sandwich as I started to push some psychedelic borders that should be left alone in settings such as that though. Definitely a bit risky, and not something I'd do over a longer international flight (although that is exactly where it would actually be useful), but I don't regret this experience.
