Ive noticed that since I've started smoking regulary, and most of the time daily, I have pretty much reshuffled my friends.

Most people are fine to hang around baked and don't think any less of you. But some mates I find myself very uncomfortable around, especially while high and have to avoid them some of the time.

I don't know if its entirely the weed, as the friends I avoid are more into uppers (ecstasy/speed/coke) and I am not a big fan of their lifestyle and they are probably not a fan of mine. I seem to opt for more down to earth friends and if they smoke weed, its a bonus.

I don't know if this is entirely a good thing, or perhaps it is and cannabis has given me the introspection to see what I want out of friends?

i'd not go so far to say introspection, in this regard. More just another factor in your criterion which you apply to friends.
I've found myself that a few of my friends have started getting into similar 'uppers' as you described, and i've found myself seeing them in a different light too. Mostly negative however. These people were fine in general to hang around with, funny etc, but now i see some of them as a danger. One in particular, having only really just started experimenting with X was completely different. I didn't feel safe around him merely because he didn't seem to know how to hold his shit and was becoming far too talkative.

Now i ain't no stone pillar, but shit i'll talk over a beer, when we're not out in the middle of obvious St cutting up a J.

Why do you cut your joints? Man whats the point of rolling a joint, goinna smoke it, then.... hey, lets go in the middle of the street and cut up this joint! sorry but that seems a little random

Its slang for smoking a joint....

Hes referring to his friends being too overt about their usage and being too scattered/talkative in public I assume..

Same case for me.. Friends on uppers are just too out there to be comfortable around a lot of the time.

...not everybody uses the same terminology for cannabis as you do.

Remember, BlueLight is a community of people from ALL OVER the world. Every region has it's own slang terms for such things, along with everything else in daily life.

It's a cultural thing, man.

and to the OP: I know what you mean, man. It's just preference, that's all. It's typical for someone who is more of a "downer" person to not necessarily want to be around someone who is constantly up, energetic, talkative, etc. You're just finding that it's easier and much more enjoyable to be around those that share more of the same interests as you, as compared to being around people who like things/activities that you don't really care for.

Much love,

I laughed a little here :P
Lost in translation: we were cutting up the herb to then roll into a join hehe.
Now you've got this mind image stuck in my head of a guy looping out hard.

i hate being around people on stims unless ive been taking them aswell, its just annoying and awkward.

I've pretty much lost all my friends due to the fact that our friendships were always just based on the fact we like weed and nothing else.

Being high makes me a bit more tuned in to peoples' energy/vibe.

I have my mis-givings about people sketched on uppers to begin with, but if I'm high they seem to go from annoying to kind of sinister.

Well I'm an uppers man myself, but I have trouble being around people on them, as even when I'm on uppers I usually like to chill at home and do my own thing. My one boy gets coked up and will spend hours trying to get me to go to the casino and shit when I got work the next day, or stare at me for an hour straight talking nonstop about how great and awesome he is, when if fact, he barly has his shit together.
