cannabinoids with butane extraction

I was wondering, for the people who've carried out a supercritical fluid extraction of cannabinoids from shade leaves etc, what sort of a yield have you gotton?

I've recently done an extraction for a friend, and the yield from an ounce of shade leaves, was about 0.75g of the red/orange waxy material that is mainly cannabinoids. That works out at about 3% by weight. Is this about par for the course when using shade leaves

That's about right. I did the same thing a year ago, but had about 2% per weight. I don't intend to do it again, all the other ways of extraction are more cost effective, despite having a lower quality extract. I say save the butane for trimmings or (premature) buds.

^ Yeah, but that what everyone knows it as, so rather than be long winded. There are plenty of people who refer to pollen/m resin (spelling optional), but pollen only comes from male plants. I got sick pretty quickly of trying to explain that one to a load of people (lazyness/frustration and the path of least resistance).

Nice to know that I'm being fairly sucessful with the butane chromatographic cannabinoid extraction process (best I could think of for a slovent front extraction process. That name will get lots of blank looks!)

SWIM once tried extraction of a whole ten bag (UK prices) of skunk, weighing in at half way between a quarter ounce and a half ounce, added liquid butane in a glass jar with finely powdered weed dust, and agitated, repeatedly refilling with butane, I ended up with roughly 5ml of a very clear golden oil, of delicate aroma. Oil was isomerised with conc. H2SO4 and extracted.

The oil was HIGHLY potent, SWIM has a very high tolerance to cannabinoids, being a daily smoker usually smoking 20 or so large joints and a few pipes of dank or hash daily, the 5ml of oil however, supplied him for the best parts of about 4 days when smoked on a little tobacco in a pipe, very potent, intense high, some minor OEVs, shifting, brighter colors, a little object morphing etc.

In hindsight, I dont think the jar of butane was a good way to do it as some oil was lost (recovered with IPA) on the jar walls.
I think a better way, would be a silk screen attatched to the end of a thin copper pipe, with an inlet valve for the butane on the other end, so as to funnel the butane through the weed and filter on the other end, maybe collect in a shallow glass vial or something (to allow for vaporisation of remaining oil traces)

With decent amounts of cannabis, I reccomend careful isomerisation, it works wonders, converting most, if not all of the inactive cannabindiols to THCs and improving potency by quite a noticeable amount:D
