CANADA - Synthetic marijuana worries

Chatham-Kent police are concerned about IZMS, a synthetic marijuana making an appearance in Ontario.

Health Canada said an analysis of IZMS revealed the presence of synthetic cannabinoids JWH-018, JWH-073, JWH-122, which are controlled, said police.

It is illegal to sell, import, produce, export or possess these substances or products containing them, police said.

There are also potential health risks associated with the consumption of IZMS. More information can be found at <edited>.

i didn't think those were banned here, most vendors in Canada don't sell these anyway, either way branded products of mixed cannabinoids should be banned, not the cannabinoids themselves as they have tremendous medicinal potential in research. They are probably best left for research anyway, most people don't enjoy them.

the CDSA in Canada restricts "cannabis and similar synthetic preparations". That's a catchall for JWH and all the other ones, in Health Canada's eyes.

So that's why my local head shop hides these behind the counter. I've been doing bioassays on my friends who all seem to like it, but do say it's a little too intense. I only took a couple puffs myself and didn't really feel it. Regular pot gets me too fucked up.
