Misc Can Your Lungs Freeze From Nitrous?

My friend recently died and apparently everyone is saying his lungs froze from doing too much nitrous. I didn't know this was possible, is it possible?

If you inhale nitrous directly from a nitrous tank (and not putting it into a balloon) it could happen. I don't really see this happening any other way. If he was just using nitrous cartridges that you order online, I really don't see a way that this could happen because you either need to crack it into a balloon or buy one of those whipped cream cans and crack it into that and then inhale it and is impossible to freeze your lungs that way.

Nitrous will kill you dead quick if your hooked up directly to a tank and have no one watching over you. I remember on Dead tour in the early 90s a couple of kids opened up their tank in a closed car and both slipped away.

If your friend had a mask on he could have easily passed out with the mask on and then died. You cant survive on nitrous. In the dentist they have carefull regulation of oxy to nitrous.

I doubt he froze his lungs. Ive tried to hit a tank directly and its nearly impossible because 1. its under so much pressure, and 2. its to cold and painful.

Sorry about your friend. Be carefull with that shit. Dont EVER try to do a balloon while driving and NEVER put yourself in a situation where you could pass out with a tank on.

certainly possible....

get a party full of hippies with a tank and no balloons, and tell me hitting the tank won't work.....recommended? certainly not....impossible? nah
