Can you smoke nutmeg essential oil if you mix it into some herbs or just the straight grounds? I don't see anything online about it so I don't see it being a ROA

Why it’s not a recognised ROA

  • Nutmeg essential oil is not meant to be inhaled or smoked.
It’s a concentrated mixture (notably myristicin and safrole-related compounds) that are toxic and irritating when heated and inhaled.
  • Combustion ≠ vaporisation.
Burning oils produces unknown degradation products that can injure lungs and airways. The absence of “how-to” info online isn’t a secret — it’s because people get hurt.
  • Unpredictable dose.
Essential oils are highly concentrated; inhalation makes exposure fast, uneven, and hard to control, increasing risk without reliable effects.

Known risks (not moralising — physiology)

  • Acute lung irritation: coughing, chest pain, shortness of breath
  • Neurotoxicity: confusion, agitation, delirium (nutmeg is infamous for this)
  • Cardiovascular stress
  • Poisoning risk from essential oils via inhalation or skin contact

Please get your chatgpt answers out of the thread if I wanted shitty drug safety info from a bot I would have asked it myself

Obvious that it's AI because saying "The absence of “how-to” info online isn’t a secret — it’s because people get hurt." Is the anti thesis to harm reduction, if people get hurt when they do it then that's more of a reason to have it be online

Assuming you mean smoke in the traditional sense, not vaping. I’m gonna say No.

Looking at the structure of the main components (terpenes and phenylpropanoids), they would decompose into pyrolysis products at such high temperature.
Keep in mind these compounds have extremely low melting points and boiling points well below 150 C, some don’t boil at all, sintering before they reach that temperature.

For something to be vaporized, you need to ensure 100% that there is nothing potentially harmful in the substance. Remember all of those Cannabis Cartridges that killed all of those people? That was because they used Vitamin E Acetate as an emulsifier and they didn´t think it through. A bunch of people died and many others were left permanently disabled. That is just one ingredient that would be safe in nearly all applications outside of internal usage.

People who are making nutmeg essential oils are not making them to be heated, vaporized and inhaled. This is definitely not something I would recommend you doing. I know you´ve asked about nutmeg before @lunalove123 I have to say, as someone who has been around for a while, nobody enjoys getting high on nutmeg. It is not something I have ever heard anyone describe as anything other than ¨uncomfortable¨ at best and ¨horrific¨ at worst.

I understand this is something you want to experiment with. I just want you to know I support your curiosity. I understand sometimes you have to see things for yourself. If you really want to experiment with nutmeg, you´d be better off just eating it, however as we are an HR resource, I have to tell you that eating psychoactive doses of this stuff is not without risk. It´s almost universally panned as a very bad experience. Try eating a psychoactive dose then if you actually like it you can then pursue the more advanced level of finding out how to vaporize it.

Listen folks, just forget about nutmeg. It's not fun, however you ingest it.

Yes, it has psychoactive properties, but so does datura. They are both delirients and not to be messed with.
nah that shits euphoric as fuck its not the same type of deliriant as datura

buy some weed and stop trying to be on the cutting edge of nutmeg abuse. i have overdosed on nutmeg and it was absolutely fucked
not all of us have such a euphoric luxury because some of us are homeschooled losers with no friends or plugs and only a spice cabinet and a medicine cabinet
