Hey, so I used to take Focalin recreationally and therapeutically. I soon found out that the recreation use was fucking of the therapeutic effects. Because of this, I stopped taking it for a while. I'd say I've been off the medication completely for a few weeks or a month. Before, tolerance was an issue due to my past recreational use. I would usually snort up to 60mg (most I'v even done I think). I maybe did this around 10 times or less; I'm not really sure. This was over a span of a few weekends - I was never on a huge binge or anything. My doctor did not know I was abusing the medicaiton, but anyway, I got my dose raised. It's now it 30mg. I have testing tomorrow again and I feel like my ADHD is affecting my work and social life. If I go back on Focalin, do you think it would be worth it?

thats a tough one. You admit you have snorted up to 60 mg 10 times, and have abused it to the point where it doesn't even work therapeutically for you....im not a doctor but id say stay off it, if uve already been off it a few months.

But hey, do what you need to do. Just know taking it will not suddenly guarentee you an A on a test, ESPECIALLY staying up all night studying for it.

Perhaps try an amphetamine preparation as opposed to a methylphenidate one? We can't give you medical advise, but I wouldn't expect much of a drop in tolerance over a month, but my tolerance never goes down on anything. :/

It sounds to me like NDRI/NDRA medications are not the way to go for you. Amphetamine is a particularly bad one for abuse... lots of people like their dexies.
It's incredibly likely you'll keep abusing the meds... it's not a good sign you are keeping your abuse hidden from your doctor either. A month is nowhere near enough time to break a stimulant habit, though it will reuce your tolerance somewhat.

My advice: either you:
1. get off the monoaminergic stimulants. Switch to caffeine or something. Escalating dose because of tolerance is a shitty pit to fall into.
2. stop abusing your medication and take it only as directed. Also refrain from recreational amphetamine, meth, cocaine, cathinone, or other stimulants.
