Can you get pneumonia from smoking weed/any herb?

is it possible? yes.
probable? no.
just don't smoke with sick people and if you have a cold try not to make it worse by smoking weed. if you have to just eat the bud somehow or vape it when you're sick, smoking'll just make your body more vulnerable to illness in that situation.

Bronchitis and even pneumonia may occur rather easily if you are smoking moldy weed.

You can get pneumonia, upper respiratory infections from any sort of lung irritation, and smoking just about anything is bad for your lungs. Pneumonia isn't contagious, so being around someone who has it isn't going to cause you to get it. It's pretty much fluid in the lungs.
Anyway, OP, the act of smoking anything in general is not good for the health of your lungs. Some have many problems, others have no problems, it's just one of those things.

Yeah I knew a guy in HS that used to smoke alot of shitty bammer. well he ended up getting pneumonia and when they x-rayed his lungs he had some black spots.

likely no, unless you're sharing with someone with pneumonia, then hell yes - or at least you may get the common cold.

This is partially true. Microbateria can certainly be transfered via saliva or close contact, and depending on your immune system and the immune system of the person who originally contracted the virus, the former may come down with the common cold, or full blown pneumonia. So there is no straight forward answer on contagion... Just know that pneumonia ITSELF is not contagious, but the precursors to pneumonia IS.
