Can you be immune to LSD forever from dosing too much?

Where I'm from, I rarely come across good hits so when they do come around, I usually stock up and keep them well preserved in a mason jar/wrapped up in foil in my freezer.

Recently, I've been dosing every other week on Fridays.

Prior to this batch, I haven't used any LSD or tripped on anything for almost a year (9 or 10 months) The night I got these, I only ate 1 hit and it was an amazing experience. In my kitchen I have wallpaper with flowers, and I remember seeing them shrivel up, die, and the pedals falling to the floor. I was so fascinated with this I remember trying to pick up the pedals off the ground haha. (one of the coolest visuals I've had, and only from 1 white on white blotter too)

Well, after consistently eating 2-3 doses every other week for 6 weeks straight, I noticed I wasn't tripping anywhere close to my first experience eating only 1. I still have intense euphoria, but I really don't have good visuals at all. My ceilings will ripple, and I'll see patterns moving on my carpet, but I haven't had anything close to what it was the first time I used these.

I decided to give it a rest for a bit, and I waited 4 weeks. I figured by 4 weeks, my tolerance would be down a lot, and I would get the magic back. That night, I ate 3 and again, my visuals were WEAK (pretty much close to nothing). I really had to focus and stare at somthing if I wanted to see it move, and half the time I was questioning myself if it really was moving or my vision was just blurring from focusing for so long. I also felt very anxious/paranoid and I kept having heat flashes throughout the night. My pupils haven't been getting as big as they usually get either.

I know they're good hits, and I know I'm keeping them well preserved. I've never had a problem with hits going bunk the way I keep them, and I had someone else try them and he said he was pretty good off just 1.

Someone told me that maybe the blotters weren't dried right? I am at the ends of my strips. I also don't know anything about the drying process, or any processes that come with making LSD (So if I'm sound like an idiot right now that's why lol) and I don't think this is a good reason because my friend who ate 1 had an end of a strip, and he said he was tripping pretty hard.

I'm just worried because I've been using LSD a lot recently, and while I don't feel any side effects I feel almost like I'm becoming immune. Maybe 4 weeks isn't a long enough period to lay off? I don't know, but I'd hate to have ruined somthing so great for myself because I've abused it too much in the past 2-3 months.

I haven't been using anything that would cross tolerance either, I ate 100mg of molly the night before, but I don't think MDMA cross tolerances with LSD. I do take 4mg of xanax a day, but I never take it the day/day before I'm going to trip so I feel this isn't changing anything. I also smoke weed everyday, but I know this doesn't change anything either.

Can you become permanently immune? any suggestions on how long I should wait before I try again or any insight on this at all? All feedback is appreciated :)

How are you storing them? They could have degraded partially over the last few weeks, especially if stored in a warm or humid environment.

Also MDMA usage the night before will lessen, but not abolish, the effects of LSD, to my knowledge, and from personal experience.

I've never noticed any permanent tolerance, but I do know the more frequent I dose the less "special" it becomes. I believe this to be a reaction to your brain becoming conditioned to the effects of the substance, and so it take larger amounts to surpass what your mind is used to tolerating. Remember, our brains weren't meant to act the way these substances make them act so they do everything they can to act normally. receptors in the brain can learn to defend themselves better and so forth. Because of this I try to avoid dosing more than once a month. if I feel the need to trip more often between then I will usually use a different substance.

I have noticed that Marijuana can act the same way per strain. Being a regular smoker I tend to build a major tolerance to each strain after about 1/8. increased amounts don't seem to do anything more, maybe prolong the effects. Now, as soon as I smoke a new strain I will be able to get as high as I normally do every time I change things up.

LSD never fully returned to that full magic it had before. Occasionally it will depending on set/setting. But I don't think you can ever become "immune" to such a powerful substance.

I know you say you feel as if the xanax doesn't effect it because you take a break, but were you on xanax back when you first took them and had a strong trip? When I was taking xanax daily my trips seemed a little on the tame side even if I didn't take any the day of.

xanax will significantly lower the effects of LSD, even if it may not be effecting you at the time on a level you notice it can still be in your system effecting the way you react to other substances. now it would typically be out of someones system in 24-36 hours, but a regular every day user it can be in the system for an easy 3-4 days. Although you may not be gaining any of the effects this does not mean it cant lessen the effects of the LSD.

Your brain gets used to anything the more often you do it. Either double the dose or leave an extra 2-3 months between trips.

once you get familiar with the headspace it can kind of lose the novelty. Xanax will definitely affect the intensity of a trip. Taking a break is a good idea as well. And lastly, there's no way to know how evenly your blotter is layed. I'm unaware of anyone developing a permanent tolerance to LSD

Xanax will affect your trip and it's effects. Frequent use of LSD - like any drug, will cause some of its novelty to wear off which for some people can be good and for others bad. I would say weekly use is going to affect your LSD trip, I always suggest 7 days at minimum.

Yeah I had also taken xanax the day before I first had my strong trip, and it didn't seem to effect it as much at the time then.

thanks everyone else for the feedback, I'm going to give it awhile before I do try it again, well over a month. I'll also make sure I don't take xanax or any benzos a few days before I dose. I knew benzos are "trip killers," but I wasn't aware that after the effects have worn off that it could still effect my trip.

Xanax can be used to calm down someone having a bad trip so if you are a regular xanax user, it is probably interacting with the acid and weakening your trip. That said, there is no physical tolerance to LSD after about 7 days but your brain does adjust for the trips so it may seem more chill. All in all, I'd think it's mostly the xanies.
