Can Subutex + Imodium = me taking a dump?

To make a long story short I have been taking subutex for about 4-5 months and other opiates for longer before that. Opiates have always given me pretty bad constipation but this Subutex seems to have totally stopped me up lately. I take about 2mg a day btw.

So last month I was constipated for a while and I finally had a bowel movement and a few hours after that I got sick or something. My intestines were aching I guess is how I would put it. I have ibs too ao it could of been that. So I figured I would take one imodium and see what that would do. I didnt figure much since it's an opiate and my Subutex blocks other opiates. Well I took it and a couple of hours later I took the biggest dump I have taken since I have started on opiates! Surprised the heck out of me!

I haven't tried it again since for the fear it would constipate me more. So what I'm wondering is there a way for the combination of subutex and imodium to cause a bowel movement? Maybe the imodium binds to the opiate receptors in my intestines and then the subutex abruptly throws it off causing an immediate bowel movement?

I would love for this to be true because I am constipated again but I am afraid that imodium could make it worse. Any thoughts?

People take imodium for diarrhea and with subs thrown in... could be a prescription for constipation. Don't know for certain though. Take senni and/or bran + fruit + juice blended.

All I can say is every time I start subs., I have the runs, bad!
Certainly not constipating for me. And Imodium don't help, one damn bit.

Even after I become adjusted to the subs, after 4-5 days, I am still "thin."
So I guess it's different among people.

When i was on suboxone for a few years i had a bowel movement maybe 2x a week and it hurt like hell and was just awful. that was really the only side effect for me. if i took immodium on top of the sub's, i cant even imagine how much pain and blood would be involved in the passing process...for real, its effing awful. you also run the risk of toxic megacolon, which is essentially where you cant shit and will wind up in the ER with a doctor manually removing your crap with his hands. its probably as fun as it sounds. careful with mixing the two....id go for a stool softener like Ducolax and a laxative like exlax. after you get some normality, try using just fiber or psyllium husk like metamucil...its easy on your body and even good for your health (the fiber part). if all else fails, talk to your doc.

I loperamide causes worse constipation than even subutex. If your taking it to take a dump not a good idea, its called "anti-diarrheal" if you get the cheap brand.

To the poster, one of the only tricks that help me when I'm severely constipated because of Subutex, which I've been on for over 3 years now, 24mg daily, is only going to help if you're a girl. I know this seems really gross but please take my word for it, it's natural, you're not taking drugs that have delayed reaction time, and it's quick and somewhat painless. It's kinda gross, and a little embarrassing but I have to assume that no one is watching you poo, so you've got nothing to be embarrassed about.

When the urge does strike you, and there's no relief, and pushing just makes it worse, take your thumb, insert it into your vagina, and you should feel the feces backed up, well find the top of your b.m., and then push down on it, several times and like magic, it will come out in one fail swoop. You will feel immediately relieved of your pain. I learned this trick from one of my best friends long ways back, when we did drugs together. ( :/

It's the only thing that helps me when I'm in that situation. I know it's not glamorous or a very cute thought but at that point when you're in that much pain, it's a lifesaver.

Hope this helps.
