So my friend gave me an 8mg hex shaped orange Bup and told me to take it. All he said was put 1/4 of it under your tounge untill it dissolves and that it tastes like oranges. Now im experienced with many highes ( weed, salvia, LSD, mushrooms, coke, and some opiates) but ive been reading up on this pill and there are many reports of puking? I am wondering what exactly is the correct way, and the saffest way to take this pill without getting sick?

if you're not much of an opiate user, 2mg is a pretty hefty dose. Puking is certainly possible. The first time I took it (prescribed, though), I puked my brains out for hours.

you may (most likely) will get nausea but if its your first real opiate dose then you'll most likely be enjoying it too much to care =] suboxone is a very potent drug to opiate naive users. your friend is correct, put it under your tongue and let it dissolve. the effects should last 6hrs+ and may or may not be overwhelming. what is your past opiate history?

btw. this might be more suited for basic drug discussion. will prob. be moved

I agree with everyone above (including that this belongs in BDD), but I will add that you should probably start with like .5 mg or 1mg at the most. Remember you can always take ANOTHER dose, but you can't take one less.

no way to avoid the puking, it will happen or it won't... but it seems most people who throw up on it get projectile vomiting (i did too), which was fucking terrible.

i really second the .5-1mg to start with. the reason is that if you take too much, you're going to be sick for a long long time. bupe has a really long half-life, i would say the effects should last 12-24 hours. several times when I took about .3mg throughout the day, i was always high well into the next day.

I say DO NOT GO OVER 0.5 MG! I'm an experienced opiate user and anything hovering around 1 mg will make me pass out and nod all day. I'm into opiates for the stimulating effects. Anyway, 2 mg is WAY too much. If you wanna be really high start with 1 mg, wait like 4 hours, and take more if you like.

You can't use an anti-emetic?

BTW, I have long wondered something: If the nausea appurtenant to the use of opioids is due to agonism of receptors at the base of the brain not protected by the blood brain barrier, will a peripheral dopamine antagonist such as domperidone alleviate that nausea or would one need to take a peripheral (i.e. impermeable to the BBB) MOPr antagonist to achieve a substantial anti-emetic effect? If so, does such a thing exist? It seems strange that it shouldn't since there exist quite a few mechanistically diverse families of anti-emetics: why should the MOPrs have been overlooked all this time?

That would be excellent. The nausea and constipation almost seem sometimes to negate the pleasure of the opioid high. The other benefit is that, conceivably, such a substance might enhance the efficacy of any opioid taken subsequently, since the opioid molecules wouldn't get "hung up" on quite so many receptors as they made their way to the brain. Just wild conjecture...

actually i was in rehab at the time and after 6 rounds of forceful vomiting they gave me a shot that took it away... forgot what it was but after that one time i had no more problems, been on it for over a year and a half now.

Ok well i am going to take it tomarro after reading all the advice i am going to take .5mg and wait about 2 hours then take another .5mg. It seems like the smartest way to go at it the first time and see how i feel from there. Ill keep you posted. Thanks for the advice.

Definitely start with 5, but I don't think you need to wait 2 hours to redose.

Maybe 30 minutes maximum, but honestly, you'll probably either get 1) pretty high or 2) pretty sick (or 3) both) from the .5 mg.

Thanks guys..i took .5 mg today in the morning and didnt feel to much so i took 1mg more. And then started to feel real good about 1hr later and reached my peak about 2 hours later it was like a drunk/trippey feeling. Then about an hour later i started dropping down and felt like shit for about 30min but didnt puke and now i feel better and still a little high.

^ yeah, IMO, suboxone is kinda a drunk high unlike other opiates. A little bit of a dirty feeling high too.

Think you'll do it again?

If you really wanna feel the opiate high you should probably try hydros or something.

Sub takes about 1 hour for me to kick in, full effects after 2 hours...so maybe if opiate naive wait at least 2 hours before re dosing since it's possible to take too much and not feel it until 2 hours pass. It's the same for my partner. I would just be careful. I've seen people taking too much sub and it's not pretty and didn't seem very enjoyable. And since it has such a long life it will take a while to feel better if u get sick.

^^^ For me, suboxone takes about an hour to kick in and peaks in three.

*shrug* I guess I don't really notice any effects from it since it doesn't get me high, just makes me feel normal.

When I'm in wds though, it seems like it takes the edge off the symptoms pretty damn quick, but I guess it is partially in my head too.

Okay, OP, listen to these two about the dosing times =D

IMO it's quite pointless for a non-addict to take buprenorphine. Whether your aim is recreation or pain relief, there are plenty of better suited substances for those. If everyone would just stick to full agonists for recreational use, addicts would have less trouble receiving treatment.
