Can someone please rephrase self incrimination ?

There is just one question I have about BLUA/Guidelines/Rules if it wouldn't be of any hassle to anyone.I have read up on the rules/guidelines and the BLUA but it's a little difficult for me to comprehend. Question is when posting in any topic no matter wich subject or thread/sensitivity should one avoid self incrimination as in I, me, my , or name ect ?

Again , I understand the rules/guidelines and or BLUA but have a little trouble comprehending its if anyone could help me out with this ?

At the most simple level you need to avoid making yourself someone who could reasonably be prosecuted or arrested by what you have posted. So You should not post about criminal activity, most especially not in a detailed way.

Changing personal pronouns, shifting to the third person, using swim or another variation of "I have a friend who. . . " is not helpful in this regard.

Obviously a lot of BL posts mention having or doing substances. We want people to leave out detailed quantities, persons, places, etc and not make themselves likely to encounter any sort of grief by what they post here. Individual moderators are probably going to have different thresholds for when material has become incriminating. We aren't here to help people circumvent the law while at the same time we are not here to cause anyone to get arrested, so its a lot about thinking before you post. Usually all that's necessary is a little discretion to avoid self incrimination issues.

Just to add a little to what Enki said, we also highly encourage that you dont talk about future plans involving drugs, things like "Tonight I'm going to be rolling so hard at this rave" or "I'm going to cop for xyz tomorrow", anything that talks about future possession of drugs.
