Can someone please explain how this works?

Before I got on suboxone, I was taking 14-18 30mg oxys irs in a sitting to get a buzz... huge tolerance. Now I am on 4mg of suboxone. My sister had a 1-3 30 a day habit, and is on the same exact dose.... She can still get high off of 1-3 oxys (after waiting a few days for sub to leave system), I cannot, my tolerance is still humungous. Can someone explain why this is? We are both being held from withdrawal from 4mg of subs a day, so shouldnt our tolerances be the same since we are on the exact same maintenance- and thinking the sub would mess with HER tolerance annd make it higher?? Shouldnt our tolerances be the same?!?!

take a break, use something else to distract you.. who knows you might find something more enjoyable while at it.

I know that.... but how can it be that MY tolerance is so high still, and my sister, on the same dose, has her usually little bitch tolerance... why are our tolerance different?

I'm guessing your tolerance is way higher than hers since you were using shitloads of oxy. That's why she might be able to catch a buzz still and you cannot. The subs are just keeping you both from getting sick. I don't think it matters too much that your sister used maybe 90 mg a day and you took a whole lot more. Agree with previous poster, you really should take a break.

I kinda understand.... but still.... suboxone is an opiate... we are both dependant on that opiate and are held at the same dosage.... shouldn't our receptors in our brains be the same after some time? It just doesn't make sense to me why we have the same suboxone tolderance but other opiates, it's totally different and I mean TOTALLY. Anyone understand what I'm saying?

I only take opiates approximately one to three times weekly as I do not have a reliable source to find them. Hell sometimes I can't find any for a month or two on end. Usually I end up getting lucky when I find someone who has them. Even though I do not take them a lot, nor frequently, once my tolerance rose it stayed and it has never lowered. A year or two ago when I started messing around with hydrocodone it took me only 40mg to get a great euphoric nod. Then 60, then 80, and now my tolerance is so high I don't even fuck with vicodin unless I feel like doing a CWE (which I usually don't). So as for your question, it isn't abnormal for a tolerance to remain the same for a very long period of time. There is a similar effect with benzo tolerance as well. Once it goes up, it takes a very long stretch of time to come back down.
