A friend of mine (who had a regular pattern of sleep) ingested 200mg of methylone. After a while my friend dosed 75mg*2 doses with a 1.5 hour time interval between them. This resulted in mild psychosis, which I would like to understand what caused that. For reference here is the exact time of ingestion of various drugs:

Alcohol, drinking little for the whole night but not really over 4 units (40ml ethanol).
100mg m1 at t=0 minutes
100mg m1 at t=45 min
75mg m1 at t= 5h 30 min
250mg codeine at t= 5h 30
40mg 3FPM at t= 6h

Was there some sort of interaction here?

Note that the person only experienced very mild psychosis such as perceiving figures in the dark when they aren't there.

Is this psychosis or maybe psychedelic effects via serotonin receptor agonism?

I'm guessing the 3-fpm mixed in with the others may be responsible for the psychosis, maybe the methylone potentiated this. Psychosis is usually associated with dopaminergic stimulants IME.

I wouldn't really call transient visual hallucinations "psychosis", in my mind that sort of implies a way more serious detachment from reality. MDxx are well known for doing that sort of thing, especially if you combine other drugs like THC or stimulants, or are redosing after the peak.

I'd put my money on them being from activation of 5HT2a either directly or indirectly through released serotonin... or maybe it could be related, somehow, to sleep depreivation hallucinations, which I always found to be quite similar in nature.
