Just curious.. I have been having anxiety attacks lately for some reason, And the only type of drug's I have been using is Oxycodone(not to much), And Ambien some nights to help me sleep.. Has anyone else experenced this ?

I have been taking ambien for the past 3 weeks.. not often though, My docter perscribed me 10 pills and I still have 2 left. I have been having problems falling asleep too, along with the anxiety.. It's wierd, I'll be just to the point where I should fall asleep and I'll just wake right up, Then 5-10 minutes later the same thing happens. Last night it took me almost 3 hours to fall asleep because of that. These are the same symptions that I delt with from taking my XTC use to far, I dont use E very often anymore, Maybe once every few months. I just hope it is the ambien because this shit aint cool !!.. It freaks me out. thx

I don't know about Ambien but using a good amount of oxycodone is a pretty good antidote to any anxiety that I've been experiencing :) I doubt it's the oxy, more like the Ambien, too bad I know next-to-nothing about it...

I definantly cannot say with absolute certainty, but I could easily believe that taking Ambien could be a catalyst for anxiety attacks. Most definantly while under the influence of Ambien. It definantly can produce some strange psychological reactions and is abused by some for the strange hallucinatory states it can induce if you force yourself to stay awake on it. Despite what the manufacturer says, Ambien only put me to sleep the first few times I used it without giving me side-effects in the morning. After a while I would wake up feeling like a deer caught in the headlights, even after 8 hours of sleep. I would be completely disorientated and that in itself would cause panic attacks as I'd wake up not knowing what was going on and have someone in my house telling me I needed to rush to work. I'd take a shower and get dressed and run out the door still not fully-aware of what was happening.
Oxycodone on the other hand I do not see as something that would cause anxiety attacks. Not on it, not after it's worn off. But if you were starting to develop a physical addiction, a slight one, some of the minor withdrawl symptoms might manifest themselves in ways that would make you feel anxious. Sweating, irritability, slight physical discomfort throughout your body. And being that the symptoms would be so light, they would probably seem to come and go through out the day. So if you're taking it regularly, this could be the culprit.
Or maybe you're just stressed out and having minor panic attacks that aren't drug related.

Thanks for the replys.. I think I'll stay away from the ambien and see what happens, One of the times I took it and tried to stay awake reading on bluelight in bed on my lappy, I started dreaming with my eyes open.. Was kinda wierd, I thought I was in some kind of space ship or underwater or something and my laptop was like the console with all sorts of wierd controls on it.
