Can liver problems prolong the half life of drugs?

Just wondering, drugs usually last way longer than expected on me. Is it a sign of liver problems?

No, it could also just be your genetics, the drug itself, or the size or some other quirks of your body (fat percentage and distribution, circulation, etc)

I would guess it is most likely due to body size, but it could be due to a lesser amount of the enzyme that breaks it down, which for LSD, I believe, is Monoamine Oxidase.

Yeah, every person's genetics and whatnot vary, and you may have a slower metabolism than others. At least you should be getting your money's worth with drugs !

I would say you shouldn't suspect liver problems based on those effects. Read into it, the symptoms and such, to make sure.

Slightly O/T but I've heard that some very heavy drinkers experience serious decreases in tolerance as their liver is no longer able to process the alcohol well.

What you should worry about is when you've been abusing a drug and (as usual) your tolerance becomes very high, then one day it seems to be deteriorating rather quickly (like your liver). That's definitely something to worry about.

Yeah if you have liver damage/problems, it will be harder to properly metabolize certin drugs I am sure, so you will just end up pissing out half of your drugs and shit, so i imagine you could potentially end up need a higher dose in certain cases. Some people I know metabolize methadone rapidly due to HIV treatments, and they take abnormally high doses of methadone at my clinic, and get split dosing as well. Dunno the specifics off hna.d

I agree with the above poster. Ever since I had gastric bypass in 2006 (which made me a hottie lol) I metabolize drugs way fast. I particularly metabolize opiates stimulants and benzos it sucks to need higher doses
