I'm on 9th day of Withdrawal. All I have is some 500mg of Codeine Sulfate with my supply cut permanently. Can I use that amount for 3 days now and then stop?(The supply is stopped permanently, and I won't turn to other alternatives for sure). Will I have to start with the WD again? How will I be after the use at this state? TIA.

People have their preferences on winging off addiction or cold turkey. Im a cold turkey kinda guy. Either way withdrawal will hit you and you could prolong it by making it slow then feeling a little better just to feel shity again or you can get over with quick. Do you pull the bandaid off fast or slow?

You're already 9 days down. You might restart some acute withdrawals if you use too soon. For me, I withdrawal if I even just use it once, no matter how long I have been clean.

I wouldn't recommend taking any right now unless you want to risk acute withdrawal again. If your longterm plan is sobriety, then just gets rid of it. Good luck!

Most probable outcome is you will prolong the withdrawal process and take a step back in intensity, so if you feel like you need a short breather now, are you prepared to feel even worse afterwards than you feel now? For me it would be really demoralizing, once I would re-enter withdrawal and feel like shit I would probably feel like I need to start the whole process again with tapering and all.

At 9 days you should be past the worst and getting better each day (unless you were on methadone or buprenorphine , their wd is a longer more drawn out process). I have had some pretty bad habits and by day 9 the only real acute symptom was lack of sleep. I always found sleep (being able to sleep through the night ( at least 6-8 hours straight) took anywhere from 7-14 days or so

But really other than subs or methadone, usually the peak of the withdrawal is around day 3/day 4 and it slowly improves. Physically at least. You'll have some depression and blahness and fatigue and such still. But you're really in the home stretch now...

And truthfully, if you had a massive habit to the point you were having wd so many days later then codeine isn't going to do much but throw off your wd timetable.

Taking codeine now would be like awakening a sleeping dragon. Not a good idea. You may or may not reset physical wd, but you will certainly reset cravings and psychological wd. And really, you've come so far, keep going forward!
