Can dxm actually uplift depression or change your feelings

ive been going through a tough week with a girl who basically is treating me like shit.
anyway ive been having trouble sleeping and worrying about her and what i did wrong and blah blah blah.
but last night i took about 165mg of dxm and smoked some chronic (Favorite combo) and i just laid there thinking some and i relaized a lot of things about why i shouldnt care about her etc.
Now today i basically dont care about her at all its so weird, do you think the drugs have changed my mind state or is it just a coincidence?

Yes I use dxm as an anti depressant it works for a couple days or so and then you re dose and it will lift a lot of the symptoms and the pain associated with depression.. i suggest that it be pure dextromethorphan and not the stuff in the pills however because consuming those pills ten or twenty at a time will kill you over a time period.. I went to a psych hospital and told them that when my insurance ran out i started using dxm to help my symptoms and at first the doctor had no clue what i was talking about then i explained that it was cough syrup and he turned to the nurse and said oh yeah the stuff we give to sociopathic children and i was like WTF!! and he's like yeah you just down the whole bottle right..
i couldn't believe what i was hearing i think he thought i couldn't hear him.. but i heard it loud and clear..

dxm will cause paradigm shifts in your world view.. sometimes they are really good the only time.. i've had negative experiences with this drug is when i took too much so be very careful..

Why sociopathic children? What's that got to do with anything?

Anyway it's probably the SRI action of DXM that is expected to have an anti-depressant effect. Furthermore NMDA antagonism causes dissociation or interruption of the cohesion of modular brain functions, by disrupting this and realigning these functions afterwards it could be hypothesized that it serves as a sort of reset. That could also be helpful.

It will make things great at first and after a while, you just become insane. I eventually became manic, paranoid and suicidal among other things. I did it for two years on a daily basis and ended up in a mental hospital. I self medicated with this shit and did so much research about the benefits upon the serotonin reuptake inhibitors, but not enough research has been done to show long term effects of the drug. I believed that I was finally cured from my mental problems but it just made them worse in the end. While it may have a positive effect on the serotonin reuptake inhibitors for a short while or possibly longer, the effects of the drug probably will have a negative affect on other areas of the brain or nervous system.

It will change the way you think about many things and "help" you understand things from other perspectives, with occasional use (once every few months). It's a dissociative hallucinogen.

DXM reminds me of LSD, how LSD is used as a tool to help the invisible become visible.

It's definitely not something I would recommend. Tripping can help you see things in a different light but basically I think you have to just process it if you feel bad about something. Occasional use of a psychedelic or dissociative might be okay and I plan on doing that myself in a while after a period of abstinence from mostly everything. But frequent self-medication is another thing altogether.
Did you take small doses daily or enough to actually get an effect from them besides the 'medicinal' action, mr Secret?

I've used DXM for 6 years, on and off, but two years daily, as a tool to help me gain money, power, women, as one could with meth. It made me feel like the smartest man in the world and life was amazing, wonderful and perfect, most of the time anyways. I could break things that would seem impossible to break. I'm talking about bending a galvanized steel wrench in half. Typically, I would never be able to do this but when I do DXM in low doses and achieve the afterglow effects and combine them with Amp energy drinks, I basically become Superman.

The doses I would consume on a daily basis was an average of 240 mg to 600 mg.

.

it didn't have anything to do with the question.. but i thought it odd that psychiatrist's would be giving this very stong psychedelic drug to young people.. and it kind of shows that yes there is clinical use of DXM in a psychiatric setting..
I would like to note that I have severe ADD and I can tend to drift into other thoughts that aren't necessary in explaining the matter at hand..
