Misc Came up on some trazodone 50mg...what is this?

What does this pill do? I read up on it and it's an anti-depressant and it helps with anxiety. I have neither of those but I read that it helps with insomnia?? Is this true?? Can I use it to put me to sleep? I have SL 433 's which are 50mg trazodone pills. Thx! =]
