Sup gang,
For the last 2yrs I been taking codeine... most days. if i could afford to kek

everytime I WD from it, IT LASTS FOR FUCKING EVER. Heroin withdrawals lasted idk 3 days? By day 4 I felt mostly Normal. Like it was way more intense but I'd almost prefer that.
VS codeine, it's currently 9days 2h since last dose and I'm still sick as fuck. what gives man!?!?! last time I had to WD it was the same and I gave up around this time.

I'm wondering if this is just how it is???? or is this specific to the kind of codeine I'm taking (OTC polish cough medicine Thiocodin, cut with Sulfoguaiacolum, an expectorant).
Codeine gang, pls weigh in on this

Hi so well how many times have you quit it? I have the same experience, used to be 90% back by the 5th day when addicted to 150mg daily for the first year.

i now have almost two years at 425-600 and let me tell you last i stood for 10 days and still felt fucked. The more times you go through this consecutively (eg withdrawing for the sixth time after multiple relapses) it gets worse. Having well separated stints isn't as bad.

What I can tell you is take less. You haven't mentioned your dose but i assume to be more than 300mg daily for it to be bothering you as much.

The fast ending wd i described at most left me with long lasting insomnia, that much is true. But rn i struggle too.

In my experience, and this goes for any long term opioid/opiate habit, its takes about two weeks for all the withdrawal symptoms to subside.

Wean down to as small a dose as possible before you stop to avoid the intensity of the withdrawals triggering a relapse.

Its interesting that you find codeine withdrawals to last longer than those of heroin - I mean it all gets metabolised into morphine anyway but it should be the other way around.

I've had great success with Lyrica/Pregabalin in terms of mitigating heroin withdrawals. I'd typically take 300mgs a day, but these are something you don't want to trade your addiction for. It also helps with the insomnia, depression and anxiety. I wouldnt advise taking it for any longer than two weeks because like I said, they come with their own withdrawals.

be very careful about pregabalin it's the worse one i ever fought with. last time i binged on it for exactly 4 days to quit codeine and this happened before christmas and im still not alright. used gabapentin for a week after runing out and now i have no money, no codeine and quit gabapentin 7 days ago. shit's real bad but i feel like it's moreso in my head at this point.

when it comes to gabapentinoids there are two types of people, some don't get any withdrawals and those who do say it's worse than anything else

I appreciate the warning and while I will heed it, I have no desire within me to binge on or otherwise abuse pregabalin. I've never gone above the 300mg per day and would in fact use less but for the fact that 300 mg just so happens to be the denomination of pregabalin that my source is prescribed. I actually find the 300mgs to be overkill for the amount of heroin I'm withdrawing from.

It does seem to have become a very popular street drug in the past few years in Ireland and the UK. Other than it being the next best thing to a miracle for mitigating opioid and opiate withdrawal, I don't see the appeal and don't want to find out either. The goal is to get and stay clean, not pick up another addiction nor even to be using any drugs whatsoever. I'm done with drugs as far as I'm concerned, I just need my body to be done with them in respect to the withdrawals.

When you used it for a week, how much were you dosing? The people I know who are/were using it recreationally are/were using upwards of 3.4gs a day which to me is insane. I've heard of far too many people overdosing on gabapentin (although most were using something else on top) for me to even consider going over the 300mgs. I found ~200mgs to produce the same effect concerning cutting my heroin withdrawal symptoms by ~75%.

It also works wonders for benzo withdrawals. Thankfully I could successfully cut my benzo use down to only using the bare minimum (ie Trannex ~1-2mgs if and when needed which was rare due to the pregabalin working on those GABA receptors) before this recent drought on Trannex hit Dublin. I know there are certainly a lot of people out there right now suffering badly due to suddenly being cut off. Some were able to switch over to Zimmovane whereas with me Zimmovane (and 'Z-drugs'/hypnotics in general) just don't do it for my anxiety. The last time I wasted €30 on 20 Zimmovane they did nothing more than give me the munchies and that horrible metallic taste in my mouth that ruined the taste thus the enjoyment of eating said munchies, yet I still couldn't help but munch and drink tea all night.

Also, what were your withdrawal symptoms? I've heard they're an absolute clusterfuck with people almost always saying they'd take opioid/opiate withdrawals over them on any given day which speaks volumes.

Yes you are right I used INSANE doses. From friday morning to the next saturday, i did 56x75mg plus 56x150 that's 2 grams per day give or take (pregab). Of course it was bad. I just gave my two cents.

And regarding the withdrawals think heroin x benzos x meth x maybe ghb, especially when baclofen was involved. Yes I would take up opioid withdrawal or even benzo withdrawal over that. You feel like coming off a stim in opioid and benzo wd esentially. Truly horrific.
