Caffeine

Definitely taper down to reasonable doses, and DO NOT SMOKE PURE CAFFEINE. I mean come on; it is wasteful, addictive, and a very inefficient method of consumption, it lasts such a short time. Try taking l-theanine supplements with your caffeine, as it reduces almost all side effects and helps increase mental focus instead of just the speedyness. Honestly though maybe think about quitting, it sounds like you are treating caffeine as one would treat say... cocaine. It is a drug, with real effects yes. But it is generally mild and quite nasty to OD on. Perhaps try some sort of natural form of caffeine or alternatives like panax ginseng root extract, or green coffee extract, as well as green tea extract ( weight burning ) pills.

edit:
Sobriety break to get rid of tolerance is not an option too.

why is it " not an option" ? Have you convinced yourself that you literally cannot function as a human without your caffeine fix? If so, the first step to stopping your excessive use is to realize one thing: being sober is okay.

I never smoked anything that wasn't marijuana or tobacco. Today was my fist "caffeine free day". I had to sleep until 6 pm, to avoid the side effects. I had a little headache, and I was nervous. Now I'm kind confused and very slow.

im with Effuzion on this..caffeine works great when used sparingly(not every day even)..i find that if i start taking caffeine 50-100 mgs, at first it works wonders for improving mood and energy, but i find after 2-3 days tolerance grows and i need more to feel half that same kick..then it leaves me feeling crashed a few hours later so of course i take more caffeine which leads to a constant up/down cycle..in the end caffeine ends up TAKING more energy from me than giving it..it also causes noticeable mood problems as well, anxiety etc etc..my overall mood and energy levels were much better when i was 100% caffeine free .

As has been said try switching to green tea (although you will have to drink alot of it) because it has alot more health benefits than energy drinks or coffee. I drink one monster a day (135 mg) and thats fine for me. Also, exercising is a great source of natural energy.

I think as everyone has said, it's best to taper off your caffeinated products slowly and gradually. Don't just stop all together at once as you'll feel lethargic and like shit as you've said. It depends what your ultimate goal is - are you wanting to stop using caffeine all together, or simply take a break and let your tolerance refresh? If you want to take a break then I have some bad news for you - your tolerance won't reset or go down for quite some time. I agree with you a lot too, for me quitting caffeine or reducing my intake of it was hellish. It's strange as you don't ever really consider it to be a drug but simply a part of life and living when in reality you're wired all day. I used to Drink a lot of red bulls ever day along with monsters and so on so forth, I didn't really notice I was consuming so much caffeine and I had been for a good three years of my life. When I tried to stop Drinkking so much I felt withdrawal from the stuff. It's no joke or laughing matter!
