Buy a Pipe vs Bong?

Yo, so I got paid and laid today and probably gonna buy some need smoking equipment.

I budgeted out $40 for a glass piece and grinder, but now as time gets closer to my purchase, I'm starting to consider a glass bong instead.

I've owned a bong and a piece before, both broken/ found by my mom, (the bong was anyways) so the only thing keeping me from a bong is where to store it in my house.

She found it in my room because it reeks and I'm always too high to notice when I put it away at the end of a session.

So what do ya'll think? =D
 
How can we answer this for you, it sounds like your plan is mostly based on your mother?

For 40 bucks though I would say get a nice dry bowl, you can't really buy a decent glass bong for that much money anyway. Get a nice dry bowl that you can easily hide and won't smell now, then save up and get a nice glass on glass bong when the time is right.
 
$40 for a piece AND a grinder?

definitely go for the bowl, a $40 glass bong is gonna be low quality. You could probably get a decent spoon AND an okay grinder for $40 if you're lucky

I would spend ~30 on a bowl and then save for a good grinder

the spoon is convenient, easy and discrete. way better if you have to smoke on the go, too. and if you're going to get a grinder, definitely wait til you have a bit more cash to spend . . i've owned a cheap grinder, and it was honestly worse than no grinder at all.
 
spoons are by far the best and most versatile smoking devices
you can smoke it at home when your moms out, or you can smoke it discretely when she is home, and you can quickly hit it a few times if your out somewhere and have to be sneaky
bongs are only good for long slow smoking sessions

plus your budget makes it almost necessary to go with the pipe, trust me you wont regret it once you get attached to it
 
I don't know what you guys are talking about. I bought a great ass bong for $40 bucks. Its a big blue glass bong with Bob Marley's face all over it. (appropriately named Kaya).
 
I personally recommend the Eagle Bill Shake n' Vape Pipe; I just picked one up for £7.99 and am very happy with it. Takes away the smoke and carcinogens associated with smoking and-although it doesn't hit you anywhere near as hard-is a good piece, and a lot safer. The price of electric Vapourisers has put me off buying one, but with this, you just sprinkle your stuff into the bowl, place the gauze on top, and then hold a flame under the bowl until the vapour appears. Then, you shake it gently so that it heats all of the herb in the bowl, and inhale the vapour. Awesome, and very cheap.
 
I would go with a glass pipe. Because, they're portable, hit good and can carry your pipe everywhere you go. With my bong, I have to carry it in a backpack and looks way suspicious. haha.
 
Yeah, how much are grinders where you guys are at?

A high quality metal one with 3 layers cost $20 over here...

And yeah, probably gonna get another glass piece. Not a small, small one...but not a medium size one.

And I bought my last glass bong for $40, and that thing was a champion all-around with ice-catcher and percs in the stick with the bowl.
 
Jesus you guys pay out the ass for your smoking stuff, my grinder (metal, 3 chambers all that bollocks) only cost me £7.

And to the people who buy like £100 glass bongs, good for you. But I have better hobbys to put that kinda money into.

I would buy a dry glass bowl with that money and hold off on the bong for awhile. Especially since your parents aren't cool with you toking and a bong can be hard to hide.
 
honeslty id save up for a nice glass on glass bong.. but if your looking for something easy to hide a pipe or even a chillin would be good.
 
its Water filtration or go home. hot, boiling, cold, ice it doesnt matter as long as its filtrated.

Down in Jerzey itz B & B(Bongs & Blunts) for all my spoiled katz.
 
neither, roll joints/spliffs/blunts for now and save up for a nice glass bong, if that's what you like
 
go to a gas station and get a bowl for $20 and a nice grinder for $5. Shit, thats what I did. The bowl lasted me 8 months till it broke. Still have the grinder (its metal) Don't buy those plastic grinders
 
40 bucks, Just get a nice thick glass bowl. Honestly you might even save a bit more. Best bowl I have is a piece I paid $65 for. Wouldn't trade it for anything. As for a grinder, I have a little plastic one that I paid I think $3 for about 4 or 5 years ago now. Really don't use it that much though, I find it grinds the seeds up, and I don't get enough dank. I'd save for a nice metal grinder, one that uses little rods seem to be the best at not breaking up your seeds, and has a screen and separate compartment to save kief.

I've gotten bongs for under $40 before, but they aren't the best. I used them while they were the only bong I had, but I bought a double dome percolator with diffusing downstem, ice catcher, all glass on glass, 40mm thick, and an ashcatcher for $230 total. I haven't even thought about using anything else since.

So in closing. Spend your $40 on a nice bowl, and save for a nice grinder and a really nice percolator bong. You won't be sorry.
