Butorphine (Beau-tor-feen)

Wonder what this drug (N-methylnorbuprenorphine) would be like...how potent an agonist. The (C-19) propyl analog I hear will make one stop breathing, even at otherwise theraputic dosage, which is probably why it was reserved for large animals.

I'd be very surprised if it wasn't at least several hundred fold more potent agonist than prototype. Anyway, buprenorphine is such a perfect drug in so many ways (ie your not going to stop breathing, within a huge theraputic window/dose).

I think anything that doesn't at least have the ability to kill you might be pretty useless.

yeh, maybe that's why THC is useless (at least imho).

I'm not sure about Bupe's safety, sarbanes. Are you sure you're not talking about bupe + naloxone? The only opioid I ever technically overdosed on was Buprenorphine. Add benzos and you are committing suicide.

Salvinorin A is a K-opioid...and I cant recall any deaths linked to its Physiologic actions.

But it may be true for U-opioids...

I agree, but only if the opiate causes CNS depression over any other modes of toxicity.

Actually 14-methoxymetopon is FULL agonist, will floor you, but has little effect on breathing.

Well, it has a ceiling effect.

That makes me wonder if it's a partial agonist or full antagonist at mu2, and full agonist at mu1.

Doesn't seem that anyone has looked for subtype-differentiated effects.
