If you have a large and hardy opioid tolerance, you can re-dose without problems - I have, actually, found buprenorphine one of the few opioids where re-dosing is pretty much just like regular dosing in terms of the high's quality. I think in part because it has such a long half-life, as well as its active metabolite having such a long half-life, but on that note, do be CAREFUL about not dosing too much by re-dosing, as even if you don't quite feel it, the first dose of buprenorphine at 2:40 PM or so would still be very much exerting its effect only seven hours later at 9:30 PM. So, I might say, start with less (maybe 0.5 mg to 1 mg), and go up from there more slowly, if desired and if tolerated. I do understand you feel like you are coming down - I get it, and the subjective high provided from the 2 mg seven hours ago is just that - subjective and personal, BUT it is still active in your system, so really do be cautious. I have heard more than one story where someone, even with pretty good opioid tolerance, will take some bupe, feel pretty good, go to use more (even if after a relatively long while) and then become quite sick for a couple days after. I don't know your tolerance to opioids, on the whole, but buprenorphine is a different sort of animal in that kingdom, and a little can end up being quite a lot. Again, if you want to re-dose, I'd suggest just taking a smaller fraction of 3 mg, see how you are feeling in maybe an hour or so, and then taking another dose, if you aren't satisfied. Spreading it out like that will not hurt the high, esp. because you are, in fact, re-dosing.
