I have begun taking bromelain, 500 mg extract, 1200 gdu per pill, taking four a day with meals. Been doing so for about three days.

Has anyone noticed this improves a male's taste? I have also begun to eat lots of fruits, and more veggies, and reducing my red meat, stinky spices like garlic, onion (I usually go HAM on them), as well as staying hydrated.
.
I think this has got to do something, as you can smell certain spices on people, especially stronger ones like garlic, fenugreek, curry, and probably others. Plus, I chew the heck out of my cuticles, and after eating a heavy garlic meal, the next day I can literally taste it in my cuticles.

Pineapple is reported to improve the taste of semen. I have not attempted to confirm this. That this is due to bromelain — the enzyme in pineapple which hydrolyses proteins — is speculative, since bromelain should not be absorbed without being digested -- it would be severely toxic, because it would "digest" the blood itself. Bromelain might improve protein digestion and reduce the excretion of protein fragments, but this explanation also seems unlikely, since even determined men are not likely to consume pineapple with almost every meal.

Other constituents of pineapple and related fruits that may affect the flavor properties of semen may include the volatiles such as furaneol, which is not oxidatively metabolized but is glucuronidated in vivo. The furans such as furaneol are good candidates IMHO for compounds that may pass into the semen since they have a similar structure to fructose, which is naturally included in semen by the seminal vesicle.

Fructose is the more obvious candidate. However, total sugar consumption and the consumption of non-fruit fructose sources (HFCS, agave, honey) is not generally reported to improve the taste of semen. Fructose is synthesized in the seminal vesicle.

In my partner and I's experience: taking bromelain doesn't make that large of a difference; However, cutting out things like alcohol, aromatics, broccoli, asparagus, smoking, and being sure your are as hydrated as possible makes the most apparent changes to taste and texture.
