Broken bong

Hey everyone. I broke my 12" medicali bong a while ago and I recently decided to fix it. So far I have tried JB Weld, on the recommendation of a friend, with less than ideal results.

The bong is broken at the stem ( I think that is the correct term), the place where the female slide inserted. Everything is glass on glass, and it's broken at the very bottom of the textured glass, which creates an issue with air leaks.

I know it would be expensive to have it professionally fixed, but I don't care how it looks or if it is perminant. I'm going to buy a new one at some point soon, I would like to smoke out ofmthis one am couple more times as it was a gift.

i broke my hookah once -- brought the bowl (split in half) to Home Depot. They gave me some glue-soft tar, which I used to plug the whole, then sprayed liquid sealant. You better believe I washed that shit a lot.

Cost about 3-4 bucks... glass is a hard thing to fix w/o buying replacements yourself.
 
it iis broken on the actual bong, right below where you would put the female. Like.. if there are two holes on a bong, its not the one you put your mouth on haha

I used the jb weld, it worked for holding the pieces together but there is absolutely no seal anymore. I could just use a rubber band and call it a day, but that defeats the purpose of glas on glass.

I am going to try applying some fine grain sand paper to a wooden dowel rod. The reason its not sealing is the jb weld is raised on the inside, not permitting the female to be fully inserted. If I can sand it down level with the glass (on the inside, the outside doesnt matter) then it should work.
 
that sucks. i had a huge glass bong and some fucker tripped over it. it smashed to pieces. i felt like crying
