Anyone done it ? I start it up next week -- in short it re-teaches your brain how to handle problems (in my case ptsd mainly) by going around and making new lines neurologically. Have no idea how it will go , interested in any feedback.

I'm interested. I haven't heard of this specific therapy before though. I've been a fan of similar stuff, even if only through reading articles.

Do keep us posted and I hope you receive some real breakthroughs for your constant efforts to get better :)

Sounds very interesting,

Have you taken meds or undergone any another treatment before ect...to deal with your issues? (sorry if I'm prying just interested how you came to said treatment).

Wish you all the best with this, and do keep us posted.

I've been in one form of therapy for the the last 9 years of my life - inpatient for ptsd / suicide - I will be starting this next week and will let you guys know. :)

Please do keep us updated! I'm curious to know much more about this. I also suffer from PTSD and have had suicidal tendencies in the past (been hospitalized as an inpatient before, too)... I got a bit out of therapy and things, but still feel like there's work to be done, so I'm always curious about the options there are. Hope everything goes well for you!

This is either 100% quack science or the Next Big Thing, I can't decide. I'm actually really rather interested to find out which - so let us know... and good luck!

the goggles /glasses are 500 $ alone - so i am really hoping it's not a quack !!! I only have to pay for those though - i am part of an evaluation out here so my appointments are free as part of a study - I'll be doing it 3 days a week.

I've never heard of this before but sounds interesting. Good to hear that you're trying it out though :)

Best of luck with it AoW! Like others, am interested to know what it is about and how you find it works for you. :)

PTSD? Have you tried EMDR? It has an amazing success rate with PTSD. PM for details brotha.

:)

^ Hit you up in a few bro - I just go back , today was a evaluation phase. Using the goggles it's crazy, you do everything from playing pacman to simply following patterns. I only was using them for a minute to get the feel of them, the rest of it was like I said , an evaluation - I go back friday.

... more details to come :).

hope it works out for you. Seems like its just another crap new age remedy but one never knows.

Dave, we've been discussing EMDR in my abnormal psych class lately. Who woulda thunk that eye movement would be key. What amazes me more is how the hell the woman who made the correlation made the correlation at all.

Good luck, TAOW

The neat thing is that eye movement is just one way to get that state. It's all about the bilateral stimulus: in my case we used these cool hand vibration doodads that let the therapist pulse vibrations from one hand to another, tuning both the vibration frequency and pulse frequency to fit me just right. I just fell into the state immediately.

TAOW-- I need a bit of time to reply to you properly, and I don't have it just now. I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten you, and will get back to you ASAP :)

Thx bro - but why (if you don't mind me asking) - do you believe it is yet another crap new age remedy ? Simply due to the countless other remedies that preceded it ?

This is very interesting indeed, I'd never heard of that before! It sounds kind of fun though, playing Pac Man to battle PTSD. I hope it works out for you, definitely let us know how it goes!
